Sumire's POV
"Due to the ghost incidents that you've caused, the academy cannot accept you again, Sumire." My teacher, Shino-sensei said.
I frowned and lowered my head in front of him, not wanting to see his eyes. "... Okay, I understand, Shino-sensei."
"I'm quite disappointed but in the end, you made the right choice. The school you'll be going at is a great school. You'll be able to adjust. You're scheduled to go there 2 days from now but I'm still going to try if I could ask the higher ups to give you a chance." He said and patted me on my shoulder. "Don't lose hope, Sumire."
"... Okay, I'm sorry for the troubles I've caused for all of you."
To be honest, I didn't want to transfer to another academy because I like it here but it'll be hard to go back to the academy now because of what I did... And it's breaking me because of that.
***
Today is the day.
I packed everything that I need.
I already decided... to not tell anyone that I'll be leaving today.
I asked Shino-sensei a favor, to make up an excuse for me. I don't want anyone stopping me from doing what's right. I don't want them to see me leaving... especially Boruto-kun.
I haven't showed up in class ever since the incident. Who knows? Maybe they've forgotten about me already.
Of course.
Who'd want a traitor like me? Someone who tried to explode the whole village by using Nue?
I gripped tighter on my bag. Thanks to Boruto-kun, I know now that I can correct my mistakes and that is: To transfer out to another village and repent for my sins.
I don't want to be a burden to anyone. I'll train really hard as a way of repenting and then, maybe I'll-
No... The village can never forgive me.
As I stood up in front of the hokage faces, I started remembering vague things. Like, how I met Boruto-kun and the others here. It was the start of our academy life and Boruto-kun crashed into Hokage-sama's face monument and destroyed it.
That day, it made me laugh but I didn't judge him.
I started walking towards the Konoha gate. I should be getting out now or else, my classmates- no, former classmates might see me.
I don't know what I'll do if they found out about me... leaving the village.
I closed my eyes and remembered each and every one of my classmates. I will never forget their faces. Maybe if we all grew up, we could still recognize each other's faces.
I wish that it's easy as that.
Not knowing how much time I consumed, I didn't notice that I was already in front of the gate.
I took a deep breath.
Beyond this gate contains places I haven't seen, and of course that includes the enemies of Konoha. I must be prepared for all of that. Besides, the village I'll be transferring at is just near.
