It had been about two weeks since the incident with Luna and her brothers' overprotective mistake. Luke was officially ungrounded and the band almost had their first original song ready. Luna was excited to hear the final product, but she was even more excited that Michael's detentions were almost over.
Michael. Luna paused in adjusting her tights as the boy crossed her mind. They had grown so much closer, but had only gone on one other date. She, however, didn't mind because they in some way or another spent time together. She felt lucky that he cared for her. Sighing, she finished fixing her tights before she slipped on her boots and ran down the stairs.
In the kitchen, she found Luke with some cereal, texting. Luna snatched up an apple from the bowl on the counter before sitting across from him.
"Morning, Lu."
"Hey, who's texting you so early?"
"Calum, he's kind of freaking out a little about the song."
"He shouldn't! I love what I've been hearing and I know others will too."
"I know, and Cal has gotten better at writing. He just has trouble being confident with himself." Luke sat his phone down before turning his full attention on Luna.
"You seem like you're in a good mood."
"Do I? I feel pretty much like I do every day." Luke gave her a slight look, but let it go.
"So, are you guys going to record it tonight? Can I invite Roxie over? I haven't actually hung out with her in ages." Luke scratched the back of his neck and avoided Luna's eyes.
"I don't know if inviting Roxie to this band meeting tonight would be a good idea."
"Why not? She's been to the last three."
Luna narrowed her eyes at Luke as he bit his lip, still not looking at her. Before she opened her mouth Liz called from the living room.
"This conversation isn't over." She shot him a look as the two of them made their way out of the house. As they pulled out onto the road, Luna glanced at her old home. She wasn't sure why, but she did. She wasn't surprised when she felt that familiar prick of sadness. Shaking her head, she turned her focus to her phone to reply to Michael's good morning text.
A small smile was back on her face in a matter of seconds and she felt like the worst cliche in the world. He said he had a surprise to show her and she began wondering what it could be. She leaned her head back, listening to Luke's humming from the front seat.
They pulled up to the curb at Norwest a few minutes later, and were met by Ash and Calum. Luna's face wrinkled as she looked around for Michael.
"He's running a bit late, I think." A blush creeped onto her cheeks as Ash spoke, knowing she had been caught. She opened her mouth to reply when there was a shriek coming from across the parking lot.
"Lu!"
"Rox!"
Luna met Roxie halfway, wrapping her up in a hug before they joined the boys. Luke and Ash greeted Roxie like they normally do, but Calum's face went slack as he gazed at her. That is until Ashton nudged him in the side. Luckily for him, Roxie didn't notice the small exchange. Luke had purposely distracted her until Calum was composed. Luna quirked her brow. She knew Luke had been hiding something from her, now she just needed to know if they had all kept it a secret.
Hands covered her eyes causing her body to jolt effectively making the person behind her chuckle warmly. Michael. She grabbed his hands and turned to face him. His hair caught her attention immediately, it was officially a dark chocolate color and she loved it.
