Chapter 7: the tides are changing

Chapter 7: the tides are changing…

Annabelle’s POV:

I woke up surprisingly early (for me) and almost rolled off the couch and onto the glass coffee table that was nearby. I wasn’t used to sleeping on the couch, or without my fuzzy blankets either, so I was surprised that I actually fell asleep on the couch. I groggily sat up and checked what time it was- 10:15. I didn’t have to be at Louis’ house until 3 so I was good. I honestly was wiped out from yesterday, and didn’t really question why I was sleeping on the couch and not in my extremely comfy bed. I pushed myself off the couch and headed upstairs to see if Callie was there.

When I reached my room, I saw Callie fast asleep on the extra bed in my surprisingly large room.  I took a pen and post-it from my deskand wrote a note that told Callie I was going for a walk, and I stuck it on her head. She usually was the one up first, but by the looks of it, she had stayed up extra late last night. I was used to her staying at my house because she didn’t always get along with her Mom, and my parents were never home. I checked my phone and saw that I had a text from my friend Elle.

Heyyy girly! Haven’t seen you in forEVER! 

I quickly responded back: SAMEEE! I miss you! So miss track star, wanna go for a walk around Nomahegan Park with me???? Callie’s too lazyyyy! :D

I put my phone on my dresser and got changed into black soffe shorts and a tank top from delias. I put my hair in a messy bun and brushed my teeth. I figured that there was no use in taking a shower now, if I would get all warm and gross from walking considering it was already getting extremely warm. I checked my phone and saw that I had another text from Elle.

Sureee! I’ll meet you at your house cuz its closer:D be there a.s.a.p.!

I quickly replied and went downstairs to wait for Elle. I put my phone on a little table that was by the door that held spare keys and other miscellaneous things, figuring that no one would text or call me. I grabbed a water bottle and some money.

Soon, I heard the doorbell ring and opened the door excitedly.

“ELLE!!” I shouted, “I missed you so much! How was Vermont? Did you meet any cute guys?” I excitedly asked.

“Annabelle! It nice to see you too! I was soooo bored in Vermont!” she replied while giving me a hug.

We walked out my front door and headed to the park. While walking, we were talking about random things, which was what most are conversations were like. Soon, the conversation switched from what our favorite store in the mall was to Louis. She was his facebook friend and she had seen that his relationship status was changed to single.

“Did you admit that you like him? And he was all like oh me too??? Because I saw that post he had on twitter!” she stated.

“What do you think Elle?  Yes I Annabelle Sanders admitted that I liked Louis. FUNNY JOKE.” I sarcastically replied.

“Well, I know that you haven’t been on twitter in a while, and I’m guessing you didn’t take your phone with you, so I’ll show you in a minute as soon as it loads on my crappy phone” she replied.

A few minutes later, twitter finally loaded, and Elle showed me Louis’ latest tweet. When I saw that he had posted that, I was shocked.

“Three of my favorite girls fell asleep how cute smiley face? Really??” I stated completely shocked. I also couldn’t believe that he had taken a picture of me and the twins while we were sleeping. I could feel butterflies start to emerge in my stomach as I stared at Louis’ tweet.
