Windover

Avalon and her best friend Rosie were outside playing in their neighborhood for the last time. They were both moving to a new town called Windover. Both of their parents didn't tell them much except that they were leaving today, and soon, too.

"I don't wanna leave!" Rosie wailed.

"Rosemary", Avalon said calmly.  Rosie looked up at her. "Deal with it!" She yelled in her ear. Rosie slapped Avalon and they both broke out laughing.

Then Avalon's mother came out and told the girls that it was time to leave. They looked at each other sadly and parted ways.

Now Avalon ha d to start the long ride to this unknown land.

AVALON

I was storing in my mom's car. My dad died a while ago so it's just me and her. I don't really like to talk about it though. I'm an only child but my best friend Rosie is like a sister to me.

My mom is just sitting there with a huge grin on her face while driving. She also keeps starting at me through the mirror. I look at her like she's crazy, which she is.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked her. She just keeps looking.

"Honey, I just think that you're going to love this place so much!" I just look at her and mumble "yeah right". This trip is going to take forever so I just went to sleep.

ROSEMARY

Sitting in this car is like the most boring thing ever. I'm an only child but my best friend/sister isn't here with me. Just me, my mom, and my dad.

I didn't wanna talk to them so I put in my earphones and turned up the music loud.

I also didn't want to go to this Windover place. Especially the fact that I don't know anything about it. But at least Av is gonna be there with me.

Since this is gonna be a long ride, I decided to go to sleep to the soothing voice of Alicia Keys.
