Chapter 16:

A month later (July)

Naomi POV:

Someone is knocking on Juan's door...again. I bet I know who it is.

"Antonio, please go away..."I groan, turning into Juan's chest. He opens the door.

"No. Just tell me her number."He says.

"Noooo."I groan.

"Then at least tell me where she went."He says in a pleading voice.

"Antonio."I say.

"C'mon, man you messin' up my grind."Juan says. I groan, sitting up.

"Too late the moment is gone. I'm goin' get somethin' to eat. You want somethin'?"I ask standing up.

"Damn it Antonio! I'ma get a bad case of blue balls if you don't leave us the hell alone! Dis is the fourth time this week, nigga!"Juan says.

"Calm the fuck down. I didn't really feel like it anyway."I say, then I push Antonio out the way. I head to the kitchen but I can hear him following me.

"Please just tell me."He says.

"Oh my LAWD! You gon make me go crazy!"I say snatching open the fridge.

"So tell me."He says.

"No...chicks before dicks all day."I say, pulling out some Snapple Half N' Half.

"Please...she is my everything. I want to be in my child's life. All I want is for her to be happy. And you can't seriously tell me she's happy where ever she is..."He says. He's right. She calls me and Avy almost every night crying about how much she misses him.

"Okay fine...I won't tell you where she is, but I'll give you a hint."I say sipping my drink.

"Ohh...Kay then."He says.

"Okay so Harmoni loves big cities right?"I say.

"Yeah..."He says.

"So she would probably go to a big city....warning she didn't go west, or south."I say.

"So a big city in the east...New York City!"He says.

"Mmmm..."I say nonchalant.

"Wait who would she stay with?"He says.

"I dunno, her cousin who's a rapper. And lives in New York...."I say. Antonio hugs me tightly.

"Thank you so much!"He says then turns.

"Ah, that information was not free."I say, with my hand on my hip. He turns slowly his face looks cautious.

"What do you want?"He says.

"I want you to get your life together. Boy you have a high school diploma and a associate's degree! Do something with it. And you can get a bachelor's degree in nine months online. You were meant for so much more than being in a gang. And Antonio, you have money and lots of it. You could through ten thousand dollars out the window and it wouldn't even make a dent in your account. Get a job, get a apartment, and you'll get your family. Antonio, she still loves you, she's just thinking of your unborn child. Show her you are worthy. Show her that you will fight for her."I say. I see a tear fall from his eye but he wipes it away quickly and I pretend I didn't see it.

"Okay...uh Naomi....will you and Avy come with me to New York? I don't know what to look for in aparments and stuff like that."He says.

"Wooo! NYC, hell yeah. We leave in the morning."I say, heading back upstairs.
