Chapter 12 : The Hunger Games

Finnick's POV

Then the cafeteria fills with whispers. Hey have you seen the new girl? The new girl is so hot! Im startled by a tray slammed right across from me. I look up to see a beautiful red head girl. And man, she is one of kind. . . .

"Hey. Can I sit with you?" Wow does she speak so beautifully. "Of course" She gives me a cheek to cheek smile. She scoots her tray next to mine. She pulls the chair on my left and sits next to me. She looks beautiful in her little dress and her curls along her back, and her hair pulled away from her face with a flower headband. She is so adorable. I stop staring at her and turn my head to look at my hands. Suddenly, my hoodie is taken off. I jerk and look at the girl next to me. "You have to take off your hoodie. You look cute without it. My name is Annie by the way" I am stunned. Can I kidnap her and take her to Hawaii because I would love to see her in coconuts.

"Finnick." I say giving her half a smile. I turn my head back to face my hands that are on my lap and then Annie touches my chin and makes me face her. I stare at her beautiful eyes. Sea green. "I know who you are. The hottest guy in this school" I can't react because she crashed her lips onto mine. We move our lips in sync togther. We both stop when we need to catch a breath. "Sorry. You're probably tak-" "No I'm not actually. You know Annie, you are really beautiful." She laughs and then smiles. "I am?" "Yes. Beyond beautiful"

The bell rings right when we are leaning in again. She gets up and is about to leave when I stop her. "Annie, meet me outside in the back after school." "Sure" She gives me her adorable smile and I get up and head to class.

Peeta's POV [OMG]

I love Katniss. I am super lucky to have her as my girlfriend. Im in 6-8th Period with all of my friends. Today is our first time we all get to actually be on the field. We get graded from 0-12. Zero being the lowest and 12 being the highest yeah yeah. You know how it goes. Our goal is to be the last one alive. You can get shot.

But with a fake bullet that hurts for a couple of minutes. Then it stops. So that pain can lasts quite a while but in the end you're alive. Its supposed to make the game more exciting for the teachers who are watching. That way the tributes actually fight. We can punch and pull hair off of peoples pretty little heads.

I gear up with the uniform the school gave us. No teams and partners but you can get allies while you are on the Field. All of this lasts Three periods. (2 hrs and 25min? - if each period is 45 min) I wear a tight black cut off sleeves, black cargo pants, and a bullet proof vest.

I walk out to see Cato and Marvel with the same clothes. "Hey " says Cato. I nod in return and head towards my tube.

"Your job today for the next three periods, is to go out into the field and fight. Each of you is given a small weapon with just three fake, but hurtful bullets. The bullet will glow once the pain is over. You can get it "cured" by medicine that is in a form of gel or liquid, but you can only "live" before the bullet glows. More supplies will be in the basket. Which is located somewhere where you will have to find. If you get shot, we will get the idea that you are dead. The "bullet" will hurt for a couple of minutes. Sometimes it can hurt for two minutes, or sometimes it can hurt for twenty minutes. Then the pain will go away. The last person standing wins. This is for a grade and us teachers will be watching"

Ms. Trinkett finishes talking and a timer goes down. I look around. Cato,
