The One

Introduction

Camryn was just another normal teenage girl, she went to Saint Carol Secondary school and had a part time job at a local ice cream parlor (scoops). Little did she know that her life was about to change when she became friends with the new guy.

Chapter one

I woke to the sound of my alarm beeping loudly in my ear. I reached over and hit the button to turn it off climbed out of bed and walked to the kitchen.

When I got in the kitchen my mom was sitting at the table coffee in hand and reading a magazine.

"Morning mom"

"Morning cam, did you have a good sleep honey?"

"Ya I did actually"

"I'm not working until the afternoon today so I can drive you to school"

"Ok perfect thanks!"

I usually walk to school. I could get my license but I haven't bothered to yet. I don't have the money to buy a car and even if I did I wouldn't be able to keep up with the gas and payments.

I go back to my room and throw on a pair of jeans and a sweater. The mornings are always cold in Toronto during the spring. I put a bit of makeup on and pull my hair into a messy bun on the top of my head. I grab something quick to eat and head to school.

When I get to school I meet a few of my friends and we walk around until the bell rings. My first 2 classes go by fast and next thing I know it's already lunch. I sit at a table with my friends Sam, Amy, Emily and Becca.

"So did you hear about the new kid?" Sam said

"Yes he's in my math class, he seems like a jerk" amy said

"I haven't seen him what's he look like" I said

"Oh nothing special" becca laughed

Lunch flew by as well and next thing I know I'm in my last class of the day. English. We start off with silent reading. The book I read is called The Fault In Our Stars, let's just say it's the best book out there. 10 minutes into class the door opens and in comes a tall guy, wearing all black, curly hair pushed back and a few tattoos peeking out of his shirt. This must be the new guy I thought to myself.

"Sorry I'm late, I got lost" he said

"As long as it doesn't happen again, take any empty seat we are silent reading. There are books over there on the shelf" Ms. Baffin said

I watched as he walked over and picked out a random book without even looking to see what it was called. He looked around the room to choose his spot and his eyes landed on mine. I quickly looked away but I saw the smirk on his face as he started walking and took a seat beside me. Great I muttered. He never spoke to me for the remainder of silent reading, but I felt extremely uncomfortable with him near me.

"Ok so we are going to do a project on a book I will be assigning you and your partner. This will be a week long project and I expect them to be amazing given the amount of time I will be letting you work on them." Ms. Baffin said

I was pretty excited for this project. I loved reading and working with a partner I find it just makes the project a lot more fun.

"I am going to write your names on a paper and pull them out of the box the name I pull with yours will be you project partner"

Wow just great I was hoping I could work with becca. We work so good together. I patiently wait for my name to be called

"Camryn"

Finally

"You will be partners with, Harry"

What who's harry? I thought to myself. I've never heard of him. Then it hits me. Oh my god it's the new kid. Could this get any worse. He must of herd me sigh, he looked over at me and smirked again. My friends were right he does seem like a jerk.

"So, I'm guessing your camryn" he said in his low voice with a hint of a British accent

"Yup, that's me"

"I'm new here. You probably already new that but I guess this could be a good way to get to know each other"

"Yeah"

I really didn't want anything to do with him. He looked like a bad boy type and I wasn't into those kinds of guys at all. We small talked the rest of class on how we were going to do the project. The book we got assigned was called underground. I have never read it but it looks good. Before I know it the bell rings and I rush out of class and get on the bus. I finally arrive home and get ready for work. I work until 9 tonight and I'm already exhausted. My night is spent cleaning the parlor and making ice cream. I walk home and get ready for bed. I think about everything that has happened today and finally fall asleep.
