Book VII: Chapter Unfolded

Prologue

"Mianhe Rose. I'll fix this." Sungjae said and he briskly walked out to follow Joy.

Stunned, Rose stood there long enough to witness the drama that intensified outside the restaurant. She thought Joy's sudden appearance was the mother of all surprises, but boy was she wrong. Another wave of shock hit her when she saw how Sungjae literally carried Joy to his car and drove off.

She came out of the restaurant and crossed the street to where Joy's car was abandoned. As Rose came closer, she saw Red Velvet's maknae, glaring at her.

"Yerimah...are you okay?" she asked.

"Leave me alone." Yeri said coldly as she dialled Irene's number.

"Please. I need to talk to you.." she tried to explain.

"You've caused enough trouble, Rose-ssi. Please. Ka." Yeri said, restraining herself from unleashing her anger.

Rose wasn't about to give up. Even if she was specifically told not to say anything...yet.

"Sungjae bought an apartment!" she blurted.

Yeri held her phone to her ear. "So what?"

"It's for him and Joy. Please Yerimah...hear me out."

A car stopped in front of two girls in the middle of a conversation, sitting on the sidewalk.

"Yerimah! Rose? What's going on? Why is Joy's car here and where is she?" Irene called from the passenger side.

"Whoa there, unnie. One question at a time please!" she replied squinting to get a better view of Irene's driver. "Changsub oppa?"

Irene cleared her throat. "Stay put, we're gonna park the car."

They parked exactly where Sungjae's car was earlier. Changsub and Irene stepped out and walked together to the two girls.

"Are you two....?" Yeri trailed off with a sly smile.

"Start talking Yerimah." Irene said curtly.

Laughing, Yeri began by saying, "Unnie! You will never believe what happened tonight! Sungjae oppa kidnapped Joy unnie! Ouch!" She yelped after Rose slapped her arm.

"What?!" Chansub and Irene exclaimed in unison.

"No, it's not like that. Please. Let me explain." Rose quickly recovered.

Yeri and Rose went on to tell what had happened. Both animatedly told the events that took place, always cutting each other off. Rose explained how Sungjae asked for her help in looking for an apartment, knowing that her mom was in real estate. Yeri laughed while she told how Joy discovered Sungjae's "cheating". The two blabbered on and stopped after recounting Sungjae driving off with Joy.

Changsub and Irene stood there, their mouths hanging open.

"Aish! I'm going to kill that kid when I see him!" Changsub shouted.

"Mianhe oppa. He didn't want to let you guys know. He said his hyungs are the 'kings of spoilers' and Red Velvet wouldn't be able to contain themselves." Rose reasoned.

"Gwenchana Rose." Irene said. "You were caught in the middle too. You and Joy should talk."

Rose smiled, still embarassed with how she conspired with Sungjae. Meanwhile, Changsub took his phone out from his pocket.

"Oppa, who are you calling?" asked Irene.

"Eunkwang hyung and our manager. This concerns BTOB and Red Velvet too."

"Arasso. I'm driving the girls home. I'll see you next week?" Irene replied.

"Ani, I'll see you tomorrow."
