It was my third day at school. I wanted to smile so bad. But something was missing. I looked in the mirror. I saw blonde hair styled neatly out of my face and a half smile with my teeth on show. My grey top fitted over my slender but muscular body. My jeans weren't to tight but weren't to baggy. My trainers were clean and stylish enough. But something was missing. A dream I'd wanted since I was three just didn't feel right. I needed more.

In school I sat down and listened to some tracks I'd recorded my last night in Manchester. That seemed like a while ago to me now even though I've only been here for four days. The song describes my city life and I just started to remember all the blocks of flats that I lived by. The street filled with lights, the traffic noises from outside, my room filled with pictures of me and my mum and friends. I miss it.

I'm in art and I sit and start painting my room and I glance up for a moment. A girls just walked in. I smile at her and she looks over at me. I ask " who's she ?"
One of the girls says " Oh it's just Burdock."
I say " She's stunning."
The girls start laughing.
"Burdock come here, pretty boy wants you."
She turns around. I want to die inside.
She stares at her friends. I can't bare the silence.
"Hey Burdock is that your actual name." I say trying to sound nice.
"About as real as your hair colour" and she points out that my roots. She runs her soft hands delicately through my hair. I start to blush. All her friends start to walk off so it's just me and her.
" So is it true , your going Bradwall's music college," she whispered
" It's fine everybody knows," I say trying to stay cool.
" Impressive," and she laughs mockingly.
I put my arm around her.
She pushes me away.
"I'll get us some paint brushes."

I feel like a fool.
Help.
