I wanted to get out of the hotel we had been holed up in there for almost two days, all because our crazy fangirls wouldn’t leave the hotel site. I was done, slipping a beanie and a hoodie on I creaked the door open and poked my head out security guards were busy looking the other way, so I slipped out softly letting the door shut behind me. I went down the next hallway and shot into the stairwell. Creeping down the steps I listened for a second waiting to hear the soft moving of clothing meaning someone was in the stairwell. Nothing, I continued down stopping at the back exit. The door creaked slightly as I opened it, the security guard that usually stood here was probably doing a patrol around the area. I ran out and down the street I went. Breathing in the cool night air, I closed my eyes for a second. I was free.
I was taking a casual stroll down the street and soon lefts turned into rights which turned into lefts again, before I knew it, I was lost. Great. Paul, Andy and Preston would be sooo glad in the first place to hear that I snuck out. Even more so that I got lost in the city of LA, anything could happen. Crossing the street, next thing I know I was on the ground. I was hit by a car? I mean it didn’t hurt that much as it was a light tap really. I heard the car door open.
“Oh, my god. Are you okay? I’m so sorry, I didn’t see you. I was stopped at the stop sign and then you walked out and oh my god.”
Rubbing my head I sat up and looked up to see the chocolate brown eyes of a girl staring back at me with such intense worry.
“Its fine love, truly, just a little bump and a scratch. You really should watch where you’re driving though.” I chuckled.
“Watch where I’m going? You came out of nowhere!” The girl in front of me stood and put her hands on her hips.
“I was walking in a crosswalk; therefore your laws in this country say I have the right of way.” I said standing up and brushing myself off, standing at nearly eye level I was at the most a good few inches taller than this girl.
“Oh great, I hit a tourist. Just great, Well are you hurt ? Do you need to go to the hospital? Need a ride? Something? ”
“Actually, could you give me a ride to my hotel? I am a bit lost.” I looked around there was no way I was going to get back to the hotel by myself and I rather not call Paul.
“Sure. Get in.” She mumbled getting into the car. I entered after her and she turned on the indoor car lights, buckling herself in she settled in. I noticed her brunette hair was pulled into a side pony tail as she put the car into gear.
“Alright, where do you need to-“ She stopped when she looked at me. Oh no, she wasn’t a fan girl was she? I was not up for screaming right now.
“Great, just mother fucking great.. I not only hit someone tonight, I hit Harry mother fucking Styles with my car. My life can’t get any better.”
I looked up from buckling in my seatbelt, I hadn’t gotten a good look yet at the mysterious guy I had just hit with my car. But, from what I could tell he wasn’t a homeless man. Looking up, “Alright, where do you need to-“ I stared at the guy who sat in front of me, I blinked, no.. I looked at him again.
“Great, just mother fucking great…I not only hit someone tonight, I hit Harry mother fucking Styles with my car. My life can’t get any better.” I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, we sat there for a moment. Before, I took another breath. “You’re not going to sue me are you? Look I have no money; I have a shitty car and a shitty job at Starbucks. I wouldn’t be able to pay you diddly squat. Please, don’t sue. I’m so incredibly sorry that I hit you, you’re right I do need to start paying attention to where I’m driving.” I was almost in tears as I gripped the steering wheel, he didn’t need to tell me where he was going, I already knew. It’s all my sister talked about, One Direction this. One Direction that. I bit my lip, if he sued me I would for sure have to start taking the night shift, sell my car, sell pretty much everything I owned. Oh god what would I tell my mom?
“Calm down, calm down. I’m not going to sue you, it never even crossed my mind. It was an honest mistake, It was dark you couldn’t see, plus by me wearing a beanie and a dark hoodie it doesn’t help much.” He said, I took a sigh of relief, he was about to say more when his phone started to ring.
“Hullo? Oh..hi Paul. I’m..around…..Okay okay! I snuck out and took a little walk, I got lost but its okay, I’m getting a ride back from….”
“Amanda.” I whispered…Paul….Paul, I racked my brain. My sister had practically instilled 1D trivia into my brain. Oh, yeah! Paul was the Tour Manager as well as the Security guard for the boys he was practically a father figure in a way to them.
“Amanda…I met her…um she sorta hit me with her car. IM FINE OKAY BYE PAUL ILL SEE YOU IN A BIT.” He quickly ended the call and gave me a childish smile. Like he was holding the key, to all the secrets of the world, “So, you seem to know where you’re going. So, I’m guessing you’re a fan?”
“No, not really. My sister is she’s the biggest fan, she just… happens to know where you’re staying so during one of her morning rants she blurted it out.”
“So, you don’t like our music?” Harry said pouting a little
“I like it, its catchy, not really my type of music.” I assured him, smiling, while in my head. I really did like their music a lot. But, not to the point of over obsessed fangirling like my sister. Turning on to the street that I knew their hotel was on I slowed and parked.
“Here we are.” I proclaimed
“Thanks, Amanda. Maybe I’ll see you around?” Harry said smirking, as he got out of the car adjusted his beanie and walked into the hotel out of sight.
“Yeah, maybe.” I muttered, as I drove away. Too bad I didn’t notice the click click of a camera in the bushes, and how my life was going to be soon turned upside down.
