Shooting Love: A Bad Boy Love Story

New School

CJ P. O. V.
"Okay, first day of school, new people, and a new chance how do you feel dear?" my mom asks as she walks into my room as I get ready.

"Mom how do you think I feel" I scoffed out putting a few books into my bag.

"I know it's not ideal that we had to move but you know that last job was no good. I promise it's best for the both of us, you know that." my mom said with a small smile, "Please get ready I need to be at the office by 9 and I don't need the school breathing down my neck about you just yet." she said walking out of my room.

I walk out my room into the bathroom to brush out my hair. I decided on a simple outfit of a loose maroon spaghetti strap shirt with a dark gray cardigan, leggings, and black converse. I'm guessing I can at least look like a fully functional teenager, even if I don't think I am. I think as I get my bag and head downstairs.

"What do you want for breakfast?" My mom asks before I could make it to the door.

"Actually mom I was thinking to just get breakfast at school so you can get to work on time." I say slowly turning the door knob ready to leave.

"Oh, ok dear just remember to call me when you get home." She said grabbing her keys and purse.

"I will." and with that I walk out and head for the bus stop. As I get closer I stand near a post where no one else is standing, reaching into my pocket I realized I left my ear buds. "Shit" Worst thing about riding the bus is having no personal space and no music, it's bad enough I don't have a car yet. 

"Guess we got a lonely new girl?" Said a girl with blonde hair with her arms crossed and smiling as she approaches me. She looked around my age but way taller.

"Yea, I guess you can say that" I say as a silence falls between us.

"No need to do the whole shy thing around me, I don't like it so much." she said chuckling a bit as she stretches her hand out to me for me to shake. "The names Kate, short for Katlyn."

"CJ, short for Courtney Jane" I say hesitantly shaking her hand. Soon enough we got comfortable with each other, so she just talked about how the school was. The bus arrived soon after, we board the and before sitting down I hear guys making cat calls, unknown if they were directed to me I just looked down and sat down. 

"Hey you in the maroon, you sure are fine think you want to spend the night with me~" said a guy behind my seat. I tried my best to ignore him and his friends talking about how nice it would be to "Bang the new girl". Finally when the bus got to the school I waited until all those guys got off first. I headed out to find the office seeing as Kate decided to go off with her friends. Upon finding it an older looking lady asked me to wait for the principle so I just sat down and closed my eyes and leaned my head against the wall to try and relax.

"Courtney Jane?" Said a man standing in the door way of an office.

"It's just CJ, but that's me." I say as he gestures for me to go into his office.

"Hi I'm principal Howard," he said sitting down. "So do you have your transfer slip?" he said looking to his computer seemingly rushing the process. I just took out the paper and gave it to him, he then printed my schedule and let me know of all my classes.

"I will be having a student of ours come down and show you around the campus and to your classes." Said the principle as he gestured for me to leave his office. Not much of a friendly man but at least that means I won't see much of him.

"Hey, I'm Lucas I'll be showing you to your classes." Said a boy with fiery brown hair and hazel eyes. "So lets see what we got. May I?" He said reaching for my schedule. I handed it to him and noticed he had a bruise on his arm, I didn't think much of it but it was pretty big. "Alright let's get going." He said with the brightest smile.

---Time skip to lunch---

"And finally this is the lunch room, this is where you find the jocks, nerds, goths and all that basic high school shit." He said chuckling a little. Honestly I enjoyed his energy throughout the whole tour. "You wanna sit with me and my girlfriend? It'll help avoid the whole dilemma of finding somewhere to sit." Lucas asked as we walk into the lunch line. 

"Sure." is all I said 

"You don't talk much do you?" He said looking curiously at me, I reply with a simple shrug and small smile. I then proceeded to followed him to a table with Kate and a guy that looked somewhat good looking and slightly resembled Lucas.

"Oh hey CJ, I didn't know you and Lucas knew each other?" she said with in a kind of jealous voice. Lucas Sat next to her giving her a little kiss on the cheek and I sat across from them next to the "Somewhat good looking guy".

"Calm down babe I was assigned to show her around, anyway CJ this is my brother Jackson and I guess you've met my girlfriend Kate already." he said slinging his arm over her. 

"Yea we met at the bus stop." I said not really looking up. 

"Why didn't you tell me you were riding the bus? I could've picked you up." Lucas said worried about his girlfriend. 

"I didn't think you could, besides how else was I gonna meet our newest member of our cult." Kate said with a devilish smile and laughed it off. As the two continued on with their conversation, I drifted off in my mind messing with my food instead of eating. Thinking on my own always seemed to be my best way of escaping in good or bad situations. 

"So CJ is it? What grade are you in?" asked Jackson.

"Huh?" I said losing my concentration on my thoughts. "

"Grade level? Y'know Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior?" He said in a not so subtle sarcastic way. 

"Oh, uh Junior." I said a bit flustered from how he was looking down at me.  

"Cool guess we are in the same graduating class" He said not really looking at me anymore. Kate and Lucas were still in their little conversation as a silence passed between Jackson and I. 

"So you think we have any classes together?" I said feeling as though I needed to start a conversation with him. However before he could even open his mouth to respond the bell rang and Jackson quickly got up and left. I watch him walk off on his own shoving a kid out of his way to leave the lunch room. I soon turn around to ask Lucas and Kate what their next class is but found the two in a heated make out session. I quickly look away and head off to my next class, on my own, great.

---Time Skip to After school---
"Hi its Clair can't get to the phone right now leave it at the beep...'beep'..."

"Hey mom its me just got home so, yeah see you later or tomorrow maybe ok bye." I tapped the end call button and put my phone back into my pocket. I then throw myself onto the couch and think of todays events. For some odd reason I couldn't stop thinking of Jackson and the way he acted on his way out of lunch. Must be nothing and yet I feel as though he may be a bit troubled. My thoughts soon take over to much and I soon doze off laying my head on the lumpy brown couch.
