Song for the story or now: Olēka by A Cerulean State

Thank the Lord that the figure skating rink is beside the arena. I ran to the entrance and saw some spectators walk in and those who ran were probably skaters like me. I noticed Tay waiting by the doors holding my bag in one hand and my uniform bag in the other hand, she was glancing around franticly looking for me. She spotted me running towards her and she headed in, I knew where my room was and so did she.

"Remember what I said, balance, smiling and standing straight are the key components," Tay reminded me as I was doing the splits and pointing my toes forward.

I stood up and took off the plastic protector on my blades and threw them into my bag and handing my bag to Tay, it felt weird to be wearing glitter and gemstones. I was wearing a silky tight midnight black suite, romper style, with cream white and silver grey stones that started on my left shoulder and ran down in a diagonal flow to my hips.

I took a deep breathe and hugged Taylor, she hugged me tight back and whispered, "make us proud and relax."

I was told to head out onto the ice, show time. I walked to the entrance and felt the light shine on my body, I smiled and skated around the ice waving to everyone who was cheering, seeing the country flag I was representing behind me, they cheered the loudest of course.

"On ice now Zander Bradley, originally from Brisbane, Australia, but now lives in Victoria, Canada and representing Canada's country," I heard the announcers say and people clapping.

I stood in the centre of the rink and raised my hands in the air and my head down, waiting for the music to start. The flow of the piano filled the building allowing me to start, I pushed off backwards and hopped off the ice and spun clockwise, landing forward and pushed off my heel rotating twice and landing before doing it again, but this time when I landed, I swung my left leg forward to give gravity a spin, tucking my leg back, I spun in a circle while lifting my right leg up, fully straight up and I heard people clapping. My song was almost over which meant it was actually show time. I spun around to face forward and jumped off the ice into a triple axel and landed stable before jumping again into a double rotation, wobbling a bit at the landing but smiled through the point deduction that I made, and finished with my back bent backward, legs crossed and arms swung back behind my arms with the song ending at the perfect time.

It felt long before everyone clapped again and relief washed over me, I straightened up and smiled at everyone and bowed at each section, forward, left, back and right before skating off the ice towards the sitting area to await for my score. I was flipping nervous.

I was greeted by Taylor and saw tears in her eyes as we hugged, one failure skate down, two more to fail at. We pulled apart and I put on my purple plastic blade protector and wiped the sweat off my forehead with my towel and went to sit in the chair with a camera in front of it, Taylor sat down first, followed by me as I wrapped my grey hoodie on my shoulder and started whispering to Taylor.

"I did crappy," is all I said.

"That is a lie and you know it," Tay replied bitter before the camera was on. We were both smiling and waving to the camera and we looked up at the score board to see what I scored. Everyone was tense, but not as tense as I was.

And there glowed the magic numbers

"156.42!" Said the announcer, as everyone hollered and I couldn't believe my eyes, I covered my mouth and screamed mentally in my head as Taylor pulled me into a side hug, closing my eyes.

"That's a very good score for someones first time on the Olympics, and at a very young age of 20. With it being the first heat, he will have to see what the final heat score is to see what he needs to score for the last heat for tomorrow, up next is Dakota Yang from Japan," I heard. I was currently sitting in third, but it was only the middle and there was still another 10 men to skate. We stood up and saw some people leaning over the rail to shake my hand as we were heading to the change room, I went up to the people who wanted to meet me before being pulled away and into the room.

I merged my body into the ice to relax my muscles after skating and Taylor was showing me what to do for tomorrow and I agreed it to, she thinks it will bump me up a few spots, more like bump me down. She stood up to allow me finish relaxing my body before seeing someone enter into the room. No, no, no, way too far.

"You did fantastic, I'm so proud of you, and you're in third place which is a huge accomplishment!" Colton exclaimed, pulling a chair beside me.

"How did you get in?!" I questioned.

"Tay," he answered simply.

"It may be a huge accomplishment, but I won't be staying up there for long, everyone else is way better then me," I stated.

"There are only two other people ahead compare to everyone else, for you to be up in the top three with 17 other competitors," he pointed out.

I sighed in frustration, now I know how my sisters felt. He reached into the tub to grab my hand and interlock our fingers.

"Why do you do this to yourself?" Cole questioned, trying to lighten the mood.

"To relax the muscles, when skating like that your muscles aren't used to this much flexibility, for the ice cools the muscles to not hurt afterwards," I explained.

He huffed out a smile and looked at me "I like it when you teach me science things."

My timer went off meaning it was time for me to get out, I let go of Cole's fingers and stood up slowly out of the water and stepped out onto the floor. I stretched my freezing, aching body and groaned in pain and wrapped a tool around my shoulders and completely forgot about the bruise on my back, praying I don't get questioned, but I was wrong,

"Zen, what happened to your back?" Cole asked.

"Nothing," I lied, it was so easy to catch me lying because I never lied and my fingers twitch.

"Zander," Colton said, crossing his arms and staring at me, waiting for an answer, I knew he wasn't going to let it drop so there was no point in arguing and I hate fights.

I looked down before answering a question I dreaded and wanted to forget.

"Two months ago, I was hit by a car."

Author's Note: HEYO! Alright, you can get mad at me for not knowing the right terms for skating. I don't know skating that well, I do research the words and try my best to explain it, it may be wrong, but I don't actually do this so I try to guess and by guess I mean watch, study and learn how skating happens. Thank you for reading and I love leaving you all on cliff hangers, heh, sorry....
