Today I accidentally electrocuted my teacher, though he might have had it coming because I warned him not to touch me and he didn't listen. He was new I tried to make a good impression but that didn't go too well. I've read up on the science of this and the science fiction of it but basically any type of friction I cause or even if I build any electric charge I become the human taser.
This is my life, incidences like this have happened since I was little. Since I was born maybe and once I was old enough to go to school my parents were less than hesitant to get rid of me for eight hours or so. There was never any surprise when I'd get myself in trouble, Willow Turner to the principals office. I'm really not the trouble I'm worth but I at least have one friend.
Unlike most teenagers, besides the obvious fact, I cannot obtain or handle technology because I will short it out. So my life is one hundred percent harder. Forget being social when I can't even be near people without shocking them, it's a very hair raising experience for them literally. The other girls complain that I ruin their hair.
Today was different I could feel the electricity flowing like I was a conductor and Mr. Smith was the unlucky participant at the end of the Van de Graaff Generator experiment His first mistake was trying to shake my hand and his second was trying to unhook his hand from mine with his other hand. The electricity probably went through his heart like with the Van de Graaff you avoid to run risk of getting shocked. He had to be taken to the hospital and there ends my trouble free streak of three days. I'll never hear the end of this now. I do hope Mr. Smith is okay."Is it true that your tased your sub in fifth period?" My friend Lennon
asked looking completely interested. I open my locker and see the electricity
between my fingertips and the handle.
"He shook my hand and you know how it is." I say collecting my books
from inside.
"So you did?" He scolded me.
"I didn't mean to but I thought the school already warn people about my
condition. I thought I could control it." I explain. "I didn't want to be rude."
"Yes, nothing says polite like unnecessary defibrillation." He says.
"Sorry, I froze." I say.
"You could get expelled or something." He exclaims.
"You know more than anyone that I didn't mean for this to happen," I turn
to face him. "I'm already gonna get in trouble with everyone else so I really don't
need this from you too."
"Fine, fine." He waved his hand. "What are we gonna do with you Willow?"
He says.
"That," I pause. "Is the question of life." I sigh.
Lennon and I walk to our next class. That teacher smartened up and kept
me away from the good little normal children. In the middle of a history lesson
about one of those big wars, and then ding, the office paged the room. I could
only imagine the the name they would utter through the speakers, was mine.
"Willow Turner to the office please." I sigh and look at Lennon, giving him a
silent apology because if this was them getting my parents involved, he probably
wouldn't see me for the next month or so.
