"Mr. Glaser?"

I knocked on the door before walking into the classroom. I had woken up at a terrible hour just to make it to school before classes began. The only reason why I was allowed in the school was because I told them Mr. Glaser asked me to meet him. They didn't really question it. It was easier than I had thought.

"Miss. Augustine." He beamed. "What a lovely surprise."

"I hope you don't mind me interrupting whatever it is that you were doing."

"Of course not. Please have a seat. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Actually, no." I said. "I usually come in here every morning before classes start. It gives me time to study and catch up on my homework."

"Every morning?" He seemed surprised. "You must be one smart kid."

"I'm trying to catch up. School was different in Illinois. The sub was pretty good at helping me out." I lied.

"Maybe I can help." He offered.

"Thanks but I just came here to see if it was ok if I came here during mornings. Now that you'll be our new teacher I just wanted to run it by you."

"I'm more than happy to have you here. You know, you remind me so much of your mother. Elise was always the smart one."

"You said you were friends with my mom and my aunt Alina. What happened?"

"I moved away and became a teacher." he shrugged.

"Good thing you got away. This town is a little weird. I guess I should blame my mom for that. She never talked about Whisper Falls. Everyone here has told me the stories. It kind of  resembles Salem, don't you think?"

"Salem?" He looked confused.

"Yeah. I mean, everyone has been telling me stories about witches and warlocks. Who actually believes that stuff?"

I laughed it off and distracted myself with getting my notepad out of my backpack. When I turned to look at him he was giving me an intense look. He knew about magic, but he didn't know that I did too.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"No. I was just wondering if...never mind."

I shrugged and pretended to be uninterested. I started writing down on my notebook and pretended to study. I could feel his eyes on me.

By the time the first bell rang I was actually done with some of the homework I had been pushing off. I waved Mr. Glaser a quick goodbye and headed towards my locker. Stella was waiting for me and I saw Cole approaching too.

"Find our anything?" Stella asked.

"I didn't pry for a lot. I mostly wanted to plant the seed of curiosity in his mind. I'll let time do the rest. I have too much on my mind to actually spend time figuring out why my mom and my aunt got so weird when I mentioned his name."

"Well I have some great news. I found my family's grimoire and hid it. Now you have to get Freya's and...Cole."

Cole reaches us just when Stella said his name. He looked at the two of us questioningly. I tried to plaster on a smile even though having him standing there made me nervous. It mostly had to do with the conversation that happened yesterday between Stell, Kane and myself.

"Is there something I'm missing." He asked.

"No, but I think I hear someone calling my name. Laters."

Stella quickly walked away leaving me alone with Cole. I started working in the combination on my locker.

"So I was doing some research in the stone and couldn't find much. I was going through my family's grimoire but I didn't get very far. I ended up falling asleep."
