I slowly opened my eyes, feeling dizzy and sick once again. The nausea overwhelmed me, and I started to throw up. When I stopped, I was momentarily blinded by the flash of a camera. Rubbing my eyes, I saw a girl with a camera above the hole, making me realize that it had happened again, this time while I was asleep. I was still in my ghost form. Just as I was about to ask her a question, I started to throw up again. I heard her sliding down the hole, and when I looked up, she was beside me. She looked familiar. She raised her camera and took another picture, blinding me with the flash once more.
"Ah! Watch it! That shit hurts my eyes!" I snarled.
"Oh shit, sorry Snow, my bad. I just wanted to get a picture of my old friend for the collection," she said, laughing. I froze when she said my name. How did she know who I was?
"How do you know my name?" I asked, looking at her with confusion. She laughed.
"Your memory is fading already? Damn, have I been missing for that long?" She laughed again. I looked her up and down one more time before I realized who she was.
"Anita?!" I said, shocked.
"There you go!" She said, giving me a big hug. A rush of emotions hit me, and I hugged her tightly.
"Where have you been? We've been worried sick!" I said, nearly in tears. She explained how she got captured by the CIA for years, and a fellow helped her escape but burned her machines that didn't let her teleport, finally freeing her from their grasp. I opened my mouth to speak again but was interrupted.
"Snow!" A familiar male voice echoed. I knew it was Nash. I saw a flash of black and green, and he appeared. An owl swooped down, landed on the ground, and morphed back into Josh. Nash slid down the deep hole and hugged me.
"It happened again, didn't it?" Josh asked worriedly. I nodded. I went to speak again but was interrupted by Nash.
"Hey, isn't that Anita?" Nash questioned.
"Do I look that different to you guys? Gosh, I didn't think I was gone that long." Anita laughed.
"Dude! It's been a year since we last saw you!" Nash was irritated. They all welcomed her back until my ghost sense went off. I watched as my sister floated up from the ground and hovered above us. Before I could warn the others, she blasted an ecto ray toward us. Using my quick thinking, I formed a shield out of my ecto energy, blocking the ray from hitting us. I suddenly started to feel sick and nauseous again. I stopped the shield and fell to all fours.
"Nice thinking, sis, but I'd watch how much power you use," Chloe laughed. The others ran over and blocked her from me.
"Leave her alone, Chloe! She's not doing well!" Nash yelled, cutting her laugh short.
"Oh, I know she's not feeling well. I'm the one making her feel that way!" Chloe said, smiling. Everyone stood there, shocked. "I've embedded a device into each and every one of you while you were sleeping—everyone but Asha and Anita. It allows me and my friends to control you. The side effects make you feel dizzy and sick before and after we control you." She laughed.
"So that's what has been happening! You sick motherfucker!" Josh yelled angrily. She laughed.
"So far, it's only worked on Nash, Snow, and Michael, but soon enough, we'll be able to control you all and help us with our plan!" She laughed. I started to feel dizzy again and threw up. "Now, get out of our spot!" She yelled angrily.
I tried to fight her, but my eyes slowly fell under her control, causing everything to go black.
I woke up lying on the ground, slowly pushing myself up and holding my head. I was in a new part of the forest, yet again it was on fire, and I was in a hole. I used my snow powers to stop the fire and reverted back to my normal self. I heard the CIA cars coming. I tried to turn into my ghost form, but for some reason, I couldn't. "Come on, change!" I begged.
