Kim Soo Hyun studied in Chung-Ang University, majoring in Theater and Film Studies. In high school, Soo Hyun began attending to change his reserved personality, but as he diligently memorized scripts and practiced for school plays, Soo Hyun aspiration to truly become an actor grew. In 2003, Soo Hyun appeared in the drama musicals Grease and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

In 2011, Kim Soo Hyun name widely known after playing the character of song sam dong in television drama 'Dream High'.
