Six 'o' clock was really flying by. Gosh. I can't believe that I Clara Evans am going on my first ever date with Andrew Scott. I've liked him for such a long time. What if he asks me to prom?
"Willow!" Clara said frantically into the mouth piece of her phone.
"Why you freakin'?"
"Because I don't know what to wear, you know how horrible I am at this."
"Shoot. Okay, well do you need me to come ov-"
"Will you please, I might die if you don't."
Willow hung up the phone as Clara turned the curling iron on. She wanted to look good. Especially for Andrew. She stood looking at the clock waiting for Willow to get over there as soon as possible.
Clara grabbed the curling iron and as she almost ran it through her hair to curl it Willow came rushing into the door.
"Always had quite the lead foot Will. Bad girl"
"Ha. Speed is my middle name"
"I thought it was Marie?"
"Don't play dumb, gosh."
"Gimme the curlin' iron."
Clara handed over the curlin iron and left her hair to the professional. The curls came out gorgeous. She didn't ever even need make-up. But tonight she knew she had to apply just a bit. They finished her hair and walked to her closet.
"Well, Drews' favorite color is Maroon. That's really creepy Clare, still wanna go out with him?"
"Psh. Shut up. How is that even creepy?"
"The color of-" Willow stopped. "Ya know, just don't get killed" and gave a Hazel eyed wink.
"So, Keith?"
"Don't mention him. I kinda have a thing for him but I don't wanna say anything 'cause well. That's just weird. I like, don't wanna take my brothers friend."
"Oh I am so telling Keith tonight."
"Noo. Please, no nothing but that. Never."
"Do you think that Andrew really likes me?"
"Nope, he hates your guts and he's only taking you to this party so you can hook up with other-"
Clara gasped. Pretending to be sarcastically hurt.
"Well. Then, whatever."
Willow picked out some ripped red skinny jeans and a black blouse with some black stilettos. Clara put it all on and with her curled hair and perfect body, she definitely pulled off the look.
"Oh. Hot. Damn."
"Perfect. Thank you so much Willow! This means so much to me. Andrew is gonna love it."
"Be careful, and if Keith lays a finger on you. Call"
"Got it babe"
6 'o' clock on the dot and there Andrew was in the drive way. Damn, he's good. That boy sure cleans up well.
"Got to go hun. I'll catch up with ya later girl." Willow said as she ran out the door.
Willow opened the front door to reveal a handsome boy in Wrangler jeans and a plaid red shirt with boots. My heart melted when he saw me coming down the stairs.
"Whoa, you look-" Andrew said lost for words. "like an angel."
"Awe. Thanks Drew."
"Anytime sweetheart"
Clara looked at the clock.
"Ready?"
"Yup. You'll never guess what I got."
"Huh?"
"The new Jason Aldean album. Ever heard 'Night Train'?"
"Duh, who hasn't I mean-"
Clara tripped on the doorstep and Andrew caught her by the waist.
"Whoa honey, didn't think you'd be falling into my arms this early." he gave a small wink as they walked to the car. Clara went to get in on her own when Andrew opened the door for her.
"Thank you, Drew."
"Anytime for an angel like yourself."
Clara smiled at him as he pulled himself into his seat when suddenly she sees how nervous he is.
"You alright? You look a little nervous"
"It's only because I don't wanna mess this up."
"You won't"
They drove for a whole 10 minutes before the Jason Aldean CD was put in.
"Night train?"
"Yup, it's the best."
"Clara, I've liked you for as long as I could remember. I promise that I will always be here for you. I don't wanna ever mess up this relationship we just started."
"Drew I-"
"You mean alot to me. You're mine. So, at this party if anyone lays a finger on you and you don't want them too, I will protect you no matter what."
"Thank you Drew, it means alot to me."
"I'm protective."
"I know."
Silence went for a few minutes and Clara became jittery. She had major butterflies and a heart beat that was faster than a racing horse. She really could not believe she was in the same truck as Andrew going to a party as his date. He never really showed up to parties with a date. Not because he couldn't get one, because he obviously could. But, maybe she was the only one in his sights worth going for. Was it really a good decision to go out with your best friends brother? It could be worse, right?
