Kai slowly opens his eyes and his vision is blurry, once he focuses he sees a yellow robot cleaning up a huge mess of dead bodies and scrap in the snow, suddenly the robot sees Kai and he lights up
Robot: Wait a minute! You're not dead! Finally! I can get off this glacier and get back to Sanctuary!
Kai: W-Wha?
Robot: Allow me to introduce myself, I am Claptrap, what's your name?
Kai: Um, it's Kai
Claptrap: Well Kai, I'm happy to help out a vault hunter, follow me, let's get you somewhere safe
Kai: Uh, okay
Kai slowly gets up and he wobbles a little as he walks in the snow with Claptrap
Claptrap: Great! Your ability to walk short distances will be Handsome Jack's downfall!
Kai: I can deal without your sarcasm
Lady: Hello Kai
Kai: Wha? Who are you?
Lady: I am angel, you are alive for a reason, pandora needs a hero and I know that hero is you
Kai: Umm, okay
Claptrap continues to lead the confused teenager to his hut, Kai sits down on the tiny chair
Claptrap: Welcome to my lovely home
Kai: There's destroyed robots everywhere
Claptrap: I know, if it sounds like I'm happy about that it's because this is my default voice, I'm actually quite depressed
Kai: Uh, okay?
Claptrap: So why'd you become a vault hunter
Kai: My little sister isn't safe, I don't want anything happening to her, if anything did happen to her, then I don't know what would happen, I made sure she was safe before I left
Claptrap: We gotta get to Sanctuary
Kai: Sanctuary?
Claptrap: It's the only place in Pandora that won't rip your face off
Kai: Alrighty then
Rumbling noises and roaring noises are heard
Claptrap: Oh no! Bullymongs!
A giant blue four armed beast comes down and grabs Claptrap and rips off his eye then drops him
Claptrap: Get.. the gun... the gun in the cabinet
Kai runs over to the cabinet and grabs the gun
Claptrap: A part from the excruciating pain, this is great! I've been waiting for a mighty vault hunter to help me reach sanctuary! I will be your wise leader, and you will be my fearsome minion!
Kai: Huh?
Claptrap quickly moves along
Claptrap: Even though that Bullymong blindsided me, I know my way around this glacier, I bet ya we'll find my eye in no time
Kai: I can't believe I'm going along with this
After walking through the snowy land, an incoming message reaches Kai's communicator
Jack: Hey kiddo, Jack here, President of Hyperion? Let me explain how things work here, Vault hunter shows up, Vault Hunter looks for the new vault, Vault Hunter gets killed, by me! You seeing the problem here? You're still alive, so if you can do me a favor and off yourself that'd be great, thanks pumpkin
Kai: What an asshole!
Claptrap: He is
After some more searching, Claptrap comes up a stop
Claptrap: My just switched back on, I see a tough looking minion, and an incredibly handsome robot, that means whoever has my eye, is very close!
A giant bullymong jumps down with Claptrap's eye around it's neck, it roars at Kai and Claptrap
Kai: Oh crap!
After a big battle, Kai manages to kill the beast and take Claptrap's eye
Claptrap: Got my eye? Great! Now we just need someone to put it back into me, much as I'm sure you'd love to jam your fist into my skull, optic surgery is best left to professionals, my pal Hammerlock in Liar's Berg can fix me up! Allons-y!
Kai: Uh, okay?
And they journey off to Liar's Berg
