"Hey Anora!" Simon called to me at my locker.

"Hey Simon! What's up?" I asked.

Simon was one of my best friends, and wasn't annoying, thankfully. We've known each other since we were little kids. He's always been there for me.

"History test today." He replied, looking annoyed.

"I know you hate tests, but you have to take them. It's important." I scolded, smiling.

"Ughhhh fine mom!" He huffed.

"Now that's a good Simon." I joked.

He smiled and said goodbye, running off to his classroom.

I gathered my books up and walked to home room.

As I walked down the hallways I heard people saying there was a new student.

A new student? Odd. It's the middle of the year. It's going to be really hard for them to catch up. And make friends.

You could help them out. The nicer half of my brain told me.

Like I need more on my plate. No thanks. I probably won't even see them anyway.

I opened my classroom door and walked to my usual seat in the back.

It looked like it was going to be a normal Thursday.

Then the door opened.

And she stepped inside.

She was like no one I have ever seen. She wasn't just your typical cheerleader pretty. She's beautiful, anyone could see that. Tall, long chestnut hair that waved perfectly across her shoulders. Her eyes were more green than a forest. Everything about her was perfect. On point.

It was breathtaking.

I could tell most girls were jealous. I looked around the room to see guys gawking and girls fuming.

I should be jealous. But I'm not.

All I wanted from this girl was one thing.

To be her friend.
