Gwen

There she was. In the very back. The girl I've been looking for.

Anora.

I looked around the room and saw jealous faces, all of these girls hated me. Just because I was pretty.

I tried not to roll my eyes.

Humans.

They get so worked up over looks. Especially teenagers. More then anything, they want to be "hot".

It disgusts me.

I flickered my eyes over to Anora again.

I could feel my eyebrows raising in surprise. The look on her face wasn't jealousy, it was longing.

Not the longing look the males had for me, the longing look to know me.

Perfect. She wants to be my friend.

But shouldn't she be a least a bit jealous?

I was broken out of my thoughts by the teacher, Mr. Heath, as he introduced me.

"Class, this is Gwen. I want you all to make her feel welcome." He said.

A few people said hello, but that was it.

Tough crowd.

I looked around. Most teenagers worried about where they were going to sit on the first day. I thought I'd never worry about that.

Now I was.

Where was I going to sit? Not the front, not by any envious girls.

Where?

Then Anora and I made eye contact. She pointed to the seat next to her and have me a smile.

This girl really was something.
