The Neighbors

Mia was digging through her yard looking for treasure. She was only 8 and had a big imagination. It was mid day and she heard a truck stop at the house next to hers. She found it odd because she knew that no one lived at that house, so she went into her front yard to see what was going on. She saw a moving truck and a middle aged man and a young boy about her age. She went up to go say hello to the boy and introduce herself. Mia said to the boy "Hi, my name is Mia Brown". The boy said to her " Hello, my name is Blake, now move out of my way". Mia thought that no one should ever be this rude to someone so she thought that she should put him in his place. She picked up a rock and threw it at him. The rock hit him right in the head. Blake started to cry and Mia was proud of herself.

Ten years later
Mia was getting ready for school and she was excited because it was her final day of high school and she couldn't wait to get it over with. She walked outside of her house and was waiting for her mom to get out to drive her. Then she saw Blake come out. She had hated Blake since the first day she saw him ten years ago. He was such an egghead. Blake came over too her and said " What's up Mia, do you want a ride" Mia was surprised at the offer because she never thought he could be nice. Mia said "Um, ok sure. I have to tell my mom first." After Mia told her mom she got into Blake's car and they left to school. The ride was silent most of the way until Blake broke the silence. He said " what are you going to do after graduation. Are you going to become a prostitute because I bet you can't do any better then that." Mia knew that his kindness wasn't going to last long. She was finally going to snap. " Blake stop the car right now" she said. " What can't you take a joke" Blake said. "Stop the car, NOW!" Mia screamed. Blake was not going to stop the car because what Mia did know was that since the first day when Mia through the rock at him, he knew that he loved her. Blake knew he had crossed the line when he said that he just didn't know how to approach her and being mean to her was the only way he knew how to communicate with her because he would get so nervous and choke. Blake was surprised with himself when he asked he if she wanted a ride. Blake said to Mia " Mia stop screaming ok, I'm sorry I crossed the line but I just love you so much that I don't know how to act. I have been debating over telling you this but I can't hold my self back anymore. I know you probably hate me from the way I have treated you over the years, but I love you. Will you ever forgive me." Mia was silent and didn't know what to say. She had put her thoughts together and said" I forgive you but I don't know if I can accept your feelings because of the way I have viewed you for so long. Maybe if things were different then we could have ended up together but I don't think it would work out." Blake responded "please give me a chance. I really love you. Please let me change the way you look at me from hate to love. I really want you in my life" Mia said "I don't think I can." Blake was not a very strong person and he couldn't take the pain of her not accepting him so he swerved of the rode into a cliff and the car exploded. Blake died instantly and Mia died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
