It was over. Voltron had finally defeated Zarkon. The thought seemed ridiculous to Lance. After so long, he was finally dead. Yes, they would have to continue to free planets from the galra. But Zarkon himself? He was gone.
Everyone had gone to bed after the battle. Everyone except Lance of course. He couldn't sleep. Hell, he never could. He just laid there on his bed, completely numb. He was happy that Zarkon was gone. But what exactly did that mean? Would things really be any different now? They'd have to keep fighting. And wouldn't someone else just take over?
Lance sighed and rubbed his eyes. Sometimes he wished his mind would just shut up. He rolled out of bed and stood up. His body ached all over and he had several scratches and bruises. He went into the bathroom and undressed slowly. He turned the water on and stepped into the shower. He closed his eyes and let the warmth of the water envelope his body. He washed dirt from his hair and skin.
He stood in there for a long time but finally decided to step out. He turned the water off and dried himself with a space towel. He put on some fluffy pants and a plain blue baggy t-shirt. He left his room and traveled down the hallways. He paid little attention to where he was going but after a while he found himself in blue's hangar.
He seemed to find himself here a lot at night. He was naturally drawn to his lion and he liked it. He liked having someone he could talk to and trust. Yes, he could talk to his teammates but he couldn't seem to open up to them. He just couldn't. Not even Hunk, not anymore. The war had seemed to to smother Lance's happiness. He didn't bother trying to fake it anymore.
He walked up to his lion and she lowered her head and opened her mouth for her paladin to enter. She loved her paladin. He was hers and she wouldn't have anyone else. She disliked the way the others treated her paladin. They didn't understand that he tried his best. They couldn't see how much he was hurting inside. She wanted to find someone that would treat him just as good as he deserved. And that's exactly what she was going to do.
Lance went and sat in the pilot seat. He smiled softly at the cool blue glow emitting from his lion. She purred to life. The sound calmed Lance and he did as she instructed. He flew her out of the hangar and into open space. He relaxed completely in his seat. He could feel their bond. The coolness in his chest, the purring of the blue lion in his head. He could see through her eyes. They had a very strong bond.
Lance knew he could trust his girl. So he flew as she instructed, not sure where they were going. Eventually they landed on a small planet. It's surface was a shimmery silver. There were boulders the size of blue's paw everywhere. Everything on it looked incredibly smooth and glowy. Blue bowed her head and Lance exitted. He kept walking, not knowing what she intended him to find.
He walked for a while before coming up to a cave. Oh, how cliche this was. Blue, this better be worth it. He took a deep breath and entered the cave. There was a small galra escape pod in the back of the cave and there was a small fire burning infront of it. He slowly approached the long lump laying next to the fire. He stared at it dumbstruck. It looked to be a galra but it had lighter skin, a nice lilac color. It had long white hair and a shorter piece that fell in it's face. Holy shit- it's face. It's gorgeous. It looks to be a male. And he looks hurt.
Lance knew there was a reason blue had taken him here and he couldn't just leave him to die. So he got closer. The man didn't wake up so Lance inspected him closely. He had a gash through his chest armor. Lance slowly and gently removed his chest plate and under shirt revealing a muscular chest and torso. But he didn't focus on that, he was more focused on the gash across his chest. He used the mans under shirt to stop the bleeding. After he was sure it was slowed he went into the escape pod and found a first aid. Turns out even galrans were safe.
