"Why did I even wear this?" I thought to myself. I stood against the wall of the frat party with my cup in my hand. I looked down at my semi short dress. It annoyed me that I only came for appearances. I curled a strand of my brunette hair between my fingers, waiting for the night to just be over.
After a few, I walked to the restroom and closed the door behind me. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened them, there was someone else in here. The young man looked 22, at best. He was sitting on the toilet, looking as (or even more) stressed than I am.
He slowly looked up from his fidgeting fingers. "Hello," The young man began. His blond hair was quite stylish, but something stood out about him. He wasn't wearing his glasses now.
"You're Namjoon Kim! Top of our class," I began, soon beginning to beam. I was hanging on to 5th myself and I never expected him to even be out of his own dorm or his nose out of a book. He shook his head and looked down again.
"Please don't. I did this because I didn't want to be the nerd. That isn't who I am," He looked more sullen. Namjoon's finger slipped around the rim of his red solo cup.
I walked to him and kneeled beside him. I placed my hand on his knee and chuckled. "You're so smart and creative! I've never seen anyone work a problem like you! And I've found your SoundCloud and I think-" He immediately stiffened.
"Y-you found that?! O-oh god..I didn't think anyone would find it," He shook his head, a deep blush starting on his ears.
"Don't worry! Your raps were really good. You have a nice way with words and I didn't know you could rap in Korean, also. I liked your one song..um, I couldn't read the title. I looked it up and it read 'School of...tears'? It's very good," I said, a smile starting across my lips.
He nervously smiled and I saw a dimple peek through.
"Thanks," He stated quite shyly. I could see him slowly going into thought when he opened his mouth again, slightly stuttering. "D-do...Do you want to get out of here and get a coffee?"
I smiled gratefully and followed him to the door, only after pouring out the awful beer down the sink's drain. I could feel the eyes follow us out of the door, but I didn't care. Maybe this could be something...
