Chapter 1 - Lyle

Joseph Lyle Menendez was born January 10, 1960 in New York. He enjoyed a privileged childhood... or so it seemed. His father, Jose was a domineering, pushy perfectionist with a far darker side to his tyrannical personality.

His mother, Mary Louise was no better. She was a passive, sometimes aggressive personality with narcissistic tendencies. She, too, had darker tendencies than her alcoholism and drug addiction.

Lyle, as he went by, felt responsible to protect his little brother, Erik from their horrible parents. Both brothers were pushed to do well by their parents. Lyle was already famous as a tennis prodigy as a little boy, but nothing was ever good enough for his father. Nothing could ever please him. So Lyle, despite wanting the love of his parents, had to be self-reliant, and look after himself. Thankfully, he had the love and support of his other family members.

But one day, he and Erik, in the midst of great panic and fear, snapped...
