HE KNOWS ME

       The bell is what wakes me from my daydreams and I shake myself out of my mind and focus back on my locker, pulling my books out for my class.

       "Natalia?" A voice from behind me asks and I turn around, letting a large yawn escape. I cover my mouth and blush slightly. "Sorry, I didn't get very much sleep last night." I explain, rubbing my eyes softly.

       "Are you done packing?" I ask him as I close my locker.

       "Natalia," Kaleb laughs to himself, throwing an arm around my shoulder. "I'm not leaving until Wednesday, I've got time." He reassures me, squeezing my hand and I smile and squeeze back as we enter the class and break apart to go to our own places in the room. Kaleb has a lot to do before he leaves for vacation, so he wants to make sure everyone will be okay on their own in the tech unit.

       "Juliet! Oh sweet Juliet! It is I, your true love Romeo!" Jake shouts dramatically from the other side of the class and sigh as I make my way over to him. "Oh how I've miss thine face." Jake coos, wiggling his eyebrows and puckering his lips.

       "Gross, save it." I retort, opening my script to the page we left off at as Ms. Burnes joins the class clapping her hands, grabbing everyone's attention.

       "Good morning class, as you know, we are two months away from our opening night for Romeo and Juliet!" The class applauds at this and then continues to listen eagerly. "Our tech crew has made up the last of the soundtrack and we are ready to start using the lights and music today. Romeo and Juliet," She says turning to Jake and I with a wide grin placed on her face. "Are we ready to start acting now rather than reading lines?"

       I nod my head immediately, not even bothering to look at Jake to see where he's at with his lines. "Splendid!" Ms. Burnes replies with enthusiasm, turning back to the class.

       "Alright class, let's move to the stage and we shall begin." Everyone gathers their things and makes their way up onto the stage.

       "Alright everyone," Ms. Burnes calls out as she takes a seat in one of the theatre chairs. "Let's see some Shakespeare!" I huff out a long breath and make my way backstage and wait for my cue to go on stage. I watch everyone else take the stage and deliver their own lines and for a while I let my mind wander.

       I snap out of my thoughts as Cam leaves stage signalling my cue and I step out onto the stage. Two backstage members come out and give me an idea of where all the props are going to be and I thank them before delivering my lines. "Stop!" Ms. Burnes yells out suddenly and I stop in the middle of my line.

       "Is there a problem Ms. Burnes?" I ask and the room goes completely quiet as Ms. Burnes places a finger to her lips and looks into the distance, probably thinking about something.

       "I want to see the Capulet ball. Let's skip to that scene." She orders, pulling out her script and flipping the pages to search for the scene. I return backstage and once again wait for my cue to enter stage. Jake enters the stage with Cam and Carson and delivers his lines and I leave my spot to make my entrance.

       "What lady is that, which doth enrich the hand of yonder knight?" Jake recites his line as he moves around the stage, following me everywhere I go. The bell rings just as he's about to deliver his next line and I sigh with relief.
