I've been sitting in class looking at this perfect boy, Lucas. He's very tall, has a great body and his hair is dark brown, which looks perfect on his tanned skin. As I'm looking at him right now, I notice his tight jeans, fitting around his muscular legs. He turns around, making eye contact and smiling a little. I feel myself turning red and quickly look away. He caught me staring at him multiple times today already, he'll probably think I'm just adoring him like every other person in this classroom - which in fact I am. I have been crushing on him since the beginning of this year, just like everyone else. I would be insane if I didn't like him - not only does he look like he came straight out of a movie, he also has some kind of bad boy aura. Not exactly the kind of person to fall for a boy like me. I'm only 5"2, dyed my hair a light blue color and never say a word at school because I'm too shy. I know I don't stand a chance with Lucas, but that's fine. Just looking at him is enough for me. For now.The bell rings, scaring me. I quickly get up, walk past Lucas and try to avoid making eye contact. There's a ten minute break before I have to get to my next class, giving me just enough time to find my best friend, Grace, and tell her about Lucas. She knows I like him, and she doesn't really care, but she does hate it when I talk about him. According to her I'm obsessed and shouldn't stare at him all day. I should listen to her, since my grades are going down and I know it's because I haven't been paying attention in class lately. I hurry to the canteen and plump down on the seat next to my friend. She looks up and smiles, asking me if my class went well. She knows what's about to come she hates it, but she's too nice not to ask. "It was fine, I was sitting behind Lucas so..". Grace nods and changes the topic. "Are you going to that school party they're hosting in two weeks?", she asks. I'm not sure yet, so I shrug my shoulders. "We could go together if you want to", she continues. I nod, since I don't have anyone else to go with and going to the dance with Grace would hide the fact that I'm into boys. Grace promises to buy us tickets and waves me goodbye, ending our conversation.
I've only been sitting in this classroom for half an hour, but it feels like forever. Lucas isn't in my biology class, so there's nothing to stare at. I'm good at biology, so I don't bother listening to my teacher today. Instead I choose to stare out of the window, through which I can see the sports field and the blue sky above it. There's people playing soccer, reminding me of Lucas. He used to be in our school's soccer team, but for some reason he quit. The sky is blue and the weather seems nice. I'll sit outside for a while before I go home after this class ends.
Class finally ended and I'm on my way to the sport's field, which is completely empty by now. The soccer team finished their training and there's usually no one else around at this time. I sit down in the middle of the field and lay down, facing the sky. I look at the clouds passing by and close my eyes after a while. When I open my eyes again, I hear someone humming. It sounds like it's coming closer and I sit up straight to see who it is. I don't see anyone at first, but then I notice a shadow coming closer. I look up and see Lucas walking towards me. My face turns red and I try to act like I didn't see him, but he's sitting down next to me. "Why are you sitting here on your own?", he asks. I try to properly answer him, but I hear myself stuttering a little. "I was just looking at the sky and enjoying the weather". Lucas nods and smiles. "So what's your name?", he asks. I feel a little disappointed because he doesn't know my name, but I don't blame him - I barely speak in class. "Elijah". Lucas grabs my hand, shaking it. "Nice to finally know your name, Elijah". I feel my face turning red once again and quickly shake his hand. " I stay quiet, not knowing what to say. "So why were you staring at me in class?", Lucas asks. Before I can even think of an answer, Lucas laughs seeing my serious face. "I was joking, I know you weren't doing that". I sigh in relief. He didn't actually notice me staring at him.
It's getting dark outside. Lucas and I have been sitting on the sport's field together for a while now and I'm opening up to him a little. We talked about school, music, hobbies, everything. I even told him about stuff I never even told Grace about. For some reason I feel safe talking to him. He actually has a sweet, friendly personality - he's not a typical popular guy. We are still sitting next to eachother, saying nothing. I try to think of something to say, but I can't think of anything. I panic, but luckily Lucas starts talking. "Are you going to that school party?", he asks. I say yes and ask him if he's going too. "I want to, but I'm not sure yet". I smile and secretly hope he'll come, though I'm going with Grace.. "Do you have a date already?" I nod, staring at the ground. Lucas stand up. "I have to go", he says. I look at him as he's taking a few steps, when he suddenly turns around. "Too bad you already have a date". He winks and turns back around, walking away.
