Hey guys!!! So this is the first chapter of 'Best Friends Neighbour'(BFN)! Hope ya'll like it :)
"Are you sure darling?" Mum wanted me to come on the family cruise, but I knew she wouldn't make me.
"I'll be fine mum; I'll just stay with Avery" I responded. Mum nodded her head in agreement, planted a motherly kiss on my forehead followed by dad, well, you know, a fatherly kiss. After one last squeeze from Lily, my 5-year-old sister, they were out.
I sprinted upstairs to my beach themed bedroom and pack the last minute essentials; toothbrush, swimmers, beach hat, and my runners. I zipped up the bag and dialled Avery's number.

"Hello?"
"Hey girly!"
"Brookie!" she was the only person that called me Brookie. Avery was my best friend since kindergarten. She was like a sister to me, and her family was my family. We used to see each other every day but its been hard since she moved out of town. She was lucky, she got to move closer to the beach, and where was I 30 minutes away from her.
"I'm just leaving the house; I'll be there in 30," I spoke as I grabbed my car keys and hauled my self and my flowery duffle bag out the door.
"I CAN'T WAIT!!!" she squealed, and with that, she hung up.
I walked down the cobblestone driveway towards my Mazda and packed the small car. I hopped in the driver's seat, and the engine came to life. Looking in my rearview mirror, I reversed and headed out on the road, blasting my favourite tunes.

"OH MY GOSH!! I can't believe you're here right now!!!" Avery yelled in excitement as the door swung open and a huge bear hug came right at me.
"Calm down," I giggled.
A tall, skinny figure came from the kitchen. It was Aves' mother.
"Hi sweety, how are you? It's good to have you around here again," said Allison, Avery's mum as she greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
"Fine thanks, and thank you so much for letting me stay,"
"Awww all good honey, you're like a second daughter to me. Now Aves, go help Brooklyn unpack," she ordered while giving me a warm smile.

"Shoes, tees, shorts, all done," I said as I threw my body on my comfy bed.
"Nuh uh! You ain't sleeping yet! We have a pool that I'm dying to jump into right now." she said as she pulled me by the arm to sit up on my bed. "I'll pick a swimsuit for you, and you go ahead while I get changed." And she took off diving into my closet.
"Ah ha! This is the perfect one, a lavender bikini," she examined and threw the two-piece in my face. "I'll be back in 10 minutes, I'll meet you in the pool, just need to sort a few things out first, and I'll be out," and then she was out closing the white door behind her.
I sat there, on the edge of my bed. I was so welcomed in the family that I had my own room. I look to my left, a great open wall of glass overlooking the beautiful view of the beach. The waves crashing on the shore where the rocky cliffs stood tall, and then the other side of the beach, all open. The waves gently washed up and down the sandy shore. I turn to my right, and there sits a white wooden bedside table. Against the wall, a tall white antique vanity stands with my makeup, not that I wore much, my hairbrush and a couple of hair ties. Along with that, I had my dusty pink jewellery box which held all of my important bits of jewellery, like my friendships bracelets and the necklace I got when I turned 13. It was all kept safe in the beautifully designed box.
I decided that I should probably get changed, so I whipped on the two-piece swimsuit and headed out the back door to the pool where an Avery was not to be found. I glance at the pool and the suns reflection glimmers off the pool luring me in. I walk around to find the stairs and stand on the first step letting my toes wriggle in the coolness of the water. I take another step down until the cold liquid reaches my ankles. I stand there for a few minutes allowing myself to relax. I always felt that I had an infinity with water...I felt safe and at home. I felt like nothing could go wrong and that I just escape from all troubles and worries.
After relaxing for what seemed like forever, I am hit by something in the head, something hard. The force was enough to knock me off my feet and into the cool pool. The shock left me unable to swim. I kick and splash trying to reach the surface, but the more I seemed to move, the quicker I seemed to drown. My eyes, struggling to keep them open as I run out of oxygen. But just as my eyes shut, a tall figure dives into the water. My eyes closed.
Hey guys!!! So this is the first chapter of 'Best Friends Neighbour' (BFN)! How did I go...was it any good? I know its a short chapter as I am still starting off, but I'll try and make them longer. Let me know what you think in the comments and if you are unsure of something, just comment, and I will try my best to get back to you as I know how frustrating it is when you are reading, and you don't understand. At the moment I don't have a schedule for releases until I get into the rhythm of writing. Well, stay tuned for the next chapter.
