Jeon Jungkook stared at the toes of his scuffed converse sneakers, waiting patiently for the bus amidst the crowd of people. He cursed himself for forgetting his earbuds today, as now he had nothing to do but stare. His eyelids drifted shut for a second and he snapped back awake, slightly dizzy. He yawned, rubbed his tired eyes and focused on the hectic thrum of the city during rush hour.

The bus was late, and Jungkook miserably imagined the extra few minutes of sleep he would have stolen if he had known. He let out a frustrated sigh as his head fell against the cold metal pole again. He was growing impatient, he couldn't afford to miss the first day at his new job.

Jungkook didn't realise he was drifting off until a hand gave him a soft tap on the shoulder and he jolted awake, humiliated and groggy.

"Sorry, I just thought you probably don't want to miss the bus," came a soft, high pitched voice. Jungkook identified the owner immediately - a short, pale-skinned boy with platinum blonde hair and full cheeks.

Jungkook felt the heat rise to his face as he realised the bus driver and passengers were all staring at him and the boy, waiting for them to get a move on. He hastily slung his bag over his shoulder and boarded, the boy following behind.

There were few seats left and Jungkook snagged one of the last, sitting down and pulling out his phone, glad he hadn't missed the bus.

His attention left his phone screen when he realised that the blonde haired boy hadn't gotten a seat and was struggling with the overhead handles, his face scrunching up in frustration at his limited height.

Guilt tugged at his conscience because Jungkook was tall enough to easily reach the handles, yet he was sitting comfortably in a seat he'd gotten only because the boy was courteous enough to wake him in time.

And he hadn't even thanked him.

He knew what he had to do and sighed as he stood up, walking over to the boy.

"H-Hey, um, I'm tall enough to stand. You can take my seat."

He was inwardly cursing himself because social interaction wasn't his strong suit.

And he was blaming his stuttering on that, and not on the boy's cute rosy cheeks.

"Oh. Are you sure?"

The tension in the air was stagnant, amplified by Jungkook's stomach doing cartwheels. But it was because he didn't like to talk to people, not because the boy's lips were plump and pink and pillowy.

"Yeah. Go ahead. I owe you one for waking me anyways."

And so the boy sat down and Jungkook was left clutching the overhead bar, his arm getting sore within a few minutes, but not regretting his decision at all.

When his stop came he made his way to the door, and was surprised to see the blonde joining him, and they crossed onto the sidewalk together.

"Um..."

"Well, see you then. Thanks."

And Jungkook was hurrying down the street, sprinting because he was going to be late and not because the mere sight of the boy made him blush and he didn't like that.

He reached the intersection and turned, grateful to see that he had left the cute boy behind.
