I was about 9 years old when this happened so I'm sorry for any bad details,
When I was 9 my family moved from our house in East Vancouver to a rustic town on the edge of Alberta. It was a small log cabin, quite a cozy place but Alberta is a cold place so a wooden house didn't really help against the snow but we just dealt with it.
I had gotten a big bedroom in our new house with a double bed next to the window, It would let me see the back porch, and the hill behind our house, covered with the snow that would also collect around the house. It was nice and I loved just falling asleep watching the frost cloud up the window.
One night I was doing the usual, get changed, brush my teeth and get into bed but as I watched the snow fell down and settled on the ground I saw something odd, the snow was laying everywhere, except from a spot right on the porch, there were footprints embedded in the snow, there wasn't a trail, just the two large footprints, no snow filling the holes, it's like it was a space that nothing could touch. I closed my eyes and ignored it but when I opened them an hour later the window was completely frosted over but I saw a silhouette behind it staring at me, I jumped back and crawled back still looking at it, I fell off the bed and was knocked unconscious as my head hit the hard wooden floor. Just before I completely passed out I saw two snowy footprints at my bedroom door, no silhouette, just the footprints.
The next morning I was startled, my dad was shaking me to wake up, he gave me a panicked look as he told me that someone had broken into the house, there wasn't anything stolen but the door was left open and they found a puddle of melting snow at my door, I cried in his arms telling him about what happened, he looked at me and asked obliviously "Hey kiddo? why's there snow in your hair?"
