You sighed as you turned onto your back and stared up at your ceiling. It was 3:30 in the morning and you just could not fall asleep. You had tried reading, drinking water, and even got up and walked around but nothing seemed to work. You lay there for a few more seconds before reaching over to get your phone from the bedside table. Unlocking it, you scrolled through your feed on Instagram before getting bored. You slowly slid out of bed while locking your phone and returning it to the night stand.
Walking over to the window, you could see the full moon clearly from where you stood. It stood out from everything else in the sky. Looking at the moon made you think of your boyfriend; Derek. You knew he couldn't come and be with you because of the full moon and him being a werewolf, but you really needed him at the moment. If there was ever a night where sleep was just not coming he was always there to hold you until the security of being wrapped in his arms finally swept you off to sleep. You were thinking about how much you missed him when you heard your phone vibrate. You walked over to see it was a text from Derek! Excitedly,you entered your password and unlocked your phone to see what Derek had to say.
Hey baby I know its late and your probably asleep but I just wanted you to know that I love you sooo much and I can't wait to see your smiling face very soon. xx
You smiled at the thought of him thinking about you as much as you thought about him. You sat down on your bed and worked on replying to his sweet message.
You're so sweet! How'd I get so luck to get a guy like you?? :)
You sent the message and anxiously waited for his reply.
Babe! What are you still doing up?? You're supposed to be asleep.
I know but I can't fall asleep. Maybe you could come over and help me? ;)
Of course, babe. I'm just finishing up here with Scott and Isaac and then I'll be over.

You smiled widely and lay back down, trying to patiently wait for Derek's arrival. About 15 minutes later you heard a tapping at your window. Startled, you jumped up at the sudden noise. You were begining to get concerned when you remembered that Derek was coming over. You quickly walked over and opened up the window, revealing a smiling Derek.
"Hi, Derek!" You whispered so you woulnd't wake up the other members of your family.
"Hi, beautiful," Derek said as he climbed in through your window and hugged you.
"Thanks for coming over," you said as you leaned back and looked up at him.
"Of course, baby. Why are you up so late?" Derek's eyes were full of concern as he brushed a strand of stray hair from your face.
"I couldn't sleep. I'm worried that you'll get hurt during the full moon and...I don't know," you broke off, unable to finish the rest of the sentence. Derek smiled and pulled you closer to him.
"You don't ever have to worry about me, you know that? I've been going through this for a long time and I know how to handle myself. I'm not going to get hurt, I promise." Derek leaned you back and looked deep into your eyes. You nodded your head and whispered "Okay."
"Alright. Now, lets get you to bed.". You giggled as he scooped you up in his arms and carried you bridal style to the bed. He plopped you down and you watched as he removed his leather jacket and t-shirt, leaving him in just jeans. He caught you staring at his toned chest and chuckled. You blushed and quickly adverted your eyes. It was hard not to stare though as he slipped off his jeans and searched though a drawer on you dresser for a pair of sweatpants that he had left at your house. You turned your head but found yourself glancing back to where he stood.
After settling on a pair of navy blue Hollister sweatpants, Derek headed back to where you sat on the bed. You gasped as he grabbed your waist and slid you into him while joining your lips together to from a passionate kiss. He slowly pulled back and looked into your eyes and smiled. His kisses still left you breathless with traces of butterflies in your stomach. You shly lifted your eyes to meet his and pulled him in for another kiss. After a couple of minutes, Derek laid down on your bed and beckoned you to him. Carefully, you moved down and rested you head on his chest, the rest of your body attached to his side. You smiled as you finally relaxed. Derek's steady breathing, firm chest, and calm heartbeat was enough to put you to sleep in a matter of minutes. Yawning you leaned up and gave him one last kiss before laying back down, ready for the wings of sleep to come and whisk you away. As you were drifting off you heard Derek whisper "I love you". You smiled and barely breathed out "I love you too" before letting yourself fall into the deep depths of slumber.
