A Proposal

A week after the end of the final battle, everyone had recovered and were relaxing before they went back to the Rainsworth manor. Once there, Gil, Oz, and Alice would spend a couple of days relaxing before going back to the Vessalius manor. When they had woken up, they were surprised to see that Oz had fully grown and now had the look of a 25 year old. Everyone had admired when they saw that he really did look like Jack, but were happy to know that he had his own body. For a couple of days the blonde had been going around talking to various other people about something and it was annoying the raven to no end. At one point, he was even seen running away from Vincent. It terrified Gil a bit to see his younger brother chasing his master around with a pair of scissors.

Gil was even more confused when Oz had requested that they go somewhere before they left the Rainsworth manor. Gil, although confused, nodded and let Oz lead the way. He looked out the carriage at the passing scenery. He occasionally looked at Oz, who was wringing his hands into his pants and fidgeting.

"Oz? You alright?"

Oz flinched when he was called and looked up at the raven and nodded too quickly. Gil raised his eyebrow at the too quick response, but shrugged it off and continued to stare out the window. He rose an eyebrow as the scenery started to become familiar to him.

"Oz, are we-"

"WE'RE HERE!!!!"

Oz hopped out of the carriage and stretched his limbs, still getting used to the fact that he was tall now. Gil looked around in awe. They were back at the place that it all began.

Gil looked up at the clock. It still rotated even after that fateful day. He sighed as the memories from the coming of age ceremony rushed back into his head. If only he had been stronger, then he wouldn't have been possessed by the Doldum. Instead, he would have helped his master and not have let him fall into the Abyss. He closed his eyes tightly and shook his head. He reopened his eyes when he felt a tug on his hand.

"Giiiil turn around"

Gil sighed and smiled while turning around. He stopped when he saw the blonde on the ground before him, on one knee, holding out a box to him. Gil blinked a couple of times, while rubbing at his eyes, and continued to stare at the blonde. Oz chuckled and grabbed Gil's left hand while removing the glove that was on.

"Gil, we've been through literally everything together. The first time that Uncle Oscar introduced us, I immediately knew that I wanted to make you mine. I did. Although, it took you forever to notice and we've loved each other each day while also having fun. Then the thing with the Abyss happened and you sacrificed the last 10 years to get me back. Then the shit with the Baskervilles happened. Each time you were hurt, hurt me even more. Finally, this last battle happened and I realized that I didn't want to be separated from you again. I want to be able to make you mine permanently. So, I'm asking you, Gilbert Nightray, will you marry me and become a Vessalius?"

Gil gaped at Oz throughout his entire speech. His hand flew to his mouth as the tears began to cascade down his face. He nodded at the blonde, but was to afraid to say anything in case his voice cracked. Oz's breath hitched when he saw Gil nod his head. He grabbed the ring and slipped it onto Gil's left ring finger. He smiled before standing up and gathering the raven into his arms and swinging them both around. They both laughed happily without a care in the world. Oz set them both on the ground with Gil on his lap as the latter tried to stifle his laughter.

"Is this why I saw Vincent chasing you around with a pair of scissors the other day?"

Oz chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Yeah, but to be fair compared to what the Nightray family, ESPECIALLY Elliot, wanted to do to me. It made Vincent look innocent"

"WHAT???"

"Heehee~ oops"

"What do you mean the Nightray family?"

Oz scratched his nose and looked at Gil.

"Well, I mean you are a son of the Nightray family, so~ I did have to get their permission"

Gil slapped a hand to his face and groaned. He looked at the blonde and flicked his forehead. He smiled in satisfaction when Oz let out a pained groan and rubbed his forehead. He glared up at his raven haired fiancé.

"So, you were the reason why Elliot stuck to me like glue and glared at you AND randomly yelled at me"

Oz drunk in the words and smiled sheepishly. The ash blonde male demanded that he go with Oz back to the Rainsworth manor, but didn't say why. During his stay, he and Leo had followed Gil like a couple of ducklings. Oz found it cute, but didn't dare to test fate this soon. Oz smiled at the memory before looking up at Gil and giving him a giant smile.

"At least we know that the youngest Nightray loves his big brother, who is now my cute fiancé"

That had earned him a slap and a stuttering mess of a fiancé.
