Ava's POV
"How was your honeymoon Lexi? Did you enjoy your two week trip in my neck of the woods?" I grinned as I ask about hers and my cousin's honeymoon experience in the Philippines
"It was amazing, I get to meet your other cousins, they were incredibly nice! And we went to this beautiful waterfall and it was beautiful than I expected" she said happily
"Did you go to any beaches?" I asked as she laced her boots, getting ready for a match
"Not really, I want to see Boracay but Harry said that we can visit it for the holidays" she smiled
"Knock Knock!" Anya suddenly appeared on the doorway, holding baby JJ (Jonathan Jr.) in her arms "I hope we're not interrupting anything" she piped up
"Actually I was just going to head to the gorilla for my tag team match tonight" she grabbed her title "I'll see you guys later" she smiled and cooed at baby JJ before leaving
"Where's baby Allison?" I ask Anya as she slowly sat down on the couch, cradling her son in her arms
"With her daddy and uncles, obviously being a spoiled princess already" she giggled "Speaking of babies, did you tell him already?" She asked with a serious face
"I did, and I try to avoid Joe ever since then." I said, looking down
"You're stupid" she scoffs "You obviously need to have a one on one talk with him!" She exclaimed softly
"What am I supposed to say? 'Hey Joe, I'm sorry that I fucked up and lost our kids! Let's just forget everything and be best friends forever!' I can't say that.." I sighed
"Sweets, I hate seeing you like this. You need to be genuinely happy and to do that you must have closure with your past relationship with Joseph." She smiled softly
Just then, a person I thought I will never see again knocked on the door "Um, Alexa said you're hanging out here Ava... Can I um talk to you? In private?" A familiar Irish accent said
"Speaking of closures." Anya rolled her eyes, I gave her a look as I stood up
"Yeah sure! Lead the way." I smiled softly at him as we head out the room
We were walking down the hallways with a very awkward silence
"I'm sorr-" He tried to start but I quickly cut him off
"Don't apologize." I looked at him sincerely "I'm the one who cheated on you first and to be completely honest if I were you, I would cheat on me myself." I smiled weakly at him
He held my hand "But still, instead of confronting you I cheated on you with my ex. I regret what I did but I'm not here to ask you to take me back." He smiled "I just need closure with you and hopefully we can be friends despite what happened." He looked at me sincerely
"Of course! We can still be friends, I hope Bella doesn't mind" I smiled sheepishly, remembering that I dunked her face in the toilet
"Bella and I are no longer together. She uh, chose her career instead of me... Again" he scratched the back of his neck "But um I'm seeing someone else." He smiled shyly
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that! But whoever is this girl you're seeing, she's a lucky one" I grinned
"Thanks Ava" he smiled softly "Can I have a hug?" He asked
I didn't say anything and just hugged him tight, I felt his arms around my waist, it honestly feels comforting
"Thank you for everything." I whispered as we pulled away
"I'll see you around?" He asked, I smiled and nodded before he was going to catering
One down, one to go /sighs;
Joe's POV
I was carrying baby Allison in my arms as Jon and Colby were watching me lull her to sleep
"She doesn't go to sleep that fast when she's in my arms" Jon said as he looked at me amusingly
"That's because you're doing it wrong, lucky for me I have tons of experience" I said as I look at my goddaughter's sleeping form "When Jojo was a little baby, I was the one who took care of her, Galina had busier schedules for college than mine, which was shocking because I even played football in college and practice was killing me. But coming home to my little girl takes the stress of football practice and college" I chuckled
"Your ex wife is such a total b-" Colby and I gave Jon a look "Right, there's a kid in the room" he sunk in his seat
Somebody knocked at the door, we looked over and saw the woman who will forever hold my heart
Ava Maine Calloway...
"Hi boys" she smiled softly "Can I talk to Joe alone please?' She asks
"Sure thing Ava, Allison needs to be with Anya anyway" Jon says as he slowly takes his daughter from me
"Good luck man" Colby says as he pats my shoulder before he and Jon left the room
"I always wondered what would you look like holding a baby." She smiled weakly as she entered the room
I stood up and hugged her tightly as I can "I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." I sobbed as I hug her even tighter
She cups my cheeks and wiped my tears away with her thumb "You have nothing to be sorry about Joe" she looks at me sadly "If I told you how I really feel on my birthday dinner and followed you when you left... None of this would happen and I would still be pregnant with our boys" she smiled weakly
"I was the one who hurt you badly the first time so it was my fault" I caressed her cheek "I shouldn't have lied to you and I should've divorced Galina the same time I fell in love with you." I sighed
"We had the right love at the wrong time. You were married and I was too innocent and naíve with love." She smiled softly "And today is still not the right time for us to be together yet" she caresses my cheek as I smiled and nodded
"What are you suggesting?" I ask as I look at her
"Well we should live life unexpectedly and we should enjoy our lives, surround ourselves with different people, maybe date other people" I frowned "But if fate really wants us to be together, we will always come back to each other" I smiled at that and kissed her forehead
"Can I kiss you one last time?" I asked, she nodded and I finally kissed her passionately, one last time... For a while
It was the best kiss of my life
It's the start of our new beginnings
