My fingers kept typing furiously on the keyboard of my computer. I have been told of a certain dilemma this morning and I refuse to accept the circumstance as it is. So here I am, trying to type my way to a letter I will send to an Alpha that has put me into the predicament.

Somehow, things got worse every single day. From just handling my pack and rogue problems, I have been told to deal with my father's business or empire that I have no interest to as well. However, being an alpha and the only heir to his throne, I am forced to shove my ass to a chair 8 hours per day and only receive sleep of 4 hours because of other related things to my pack.

A knock on the door made my fingers stop and my head to look up to the person who tried to disturb me. My beta, or second in command, looked at me warily and came in. I leaned back to my chair, waiting for him to speak his concern since he went to see me when I purposely told them I wanted to be alone this noon.

"Alpha," he bowed.

"What?"

"Alpha Robert wanted to meet you instead. He is currently at one of his buildings here in New York." He told me

Alpha Robert, the alpha who's giving me a headache. He owns a massive land and a big and strong pack back in Canada. He's one of the most outstanding alphas of all time for he is a just and strong willed alpha who can easily scare a person by passing by. However, I despise him. Not only is he a threat to my place, being that in a short period of time I have been condemned as one of the most outstanding alpha's as well, alphas are competitive and would not hesitate on declaring a war and take my land.

Apparently, he and my father used to be good friends – allies even. However, my father failed to inform me that they had made a truce when they were young: to have an exchange of members for 3 months to train with the other pack and to do it 5 months after the title is handed to their successor.

It would have been fine for me. But since I am also preparing for various rogue attacks and having some of my warriors heal from the previous one, I cannot risk sending my warriors out and leave my pack defenseless. But if I refuse, I would be facing the loss of a good ally no matter how he irritates me.

"Okay," I said to my Beta, "make some arrangements for the meeting. ASAP."

He bowed his head before leaving. I tried to tame my beast of a wolf from killing someone because of the stress and frustration. Moreover, I still haven't met my mate – the person whom I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with. I am 28 and still mateless. I haven't been able to look around because of too much work and, although I wouldn't admit it, I am jealous of my friends who already found their own.

I glanced around the building of Alpha Robert and took in the surroundings. It's nothing that I don't have. But my wolf is currently messing with my head by being agitated for no reason. He was pacing back and forth inside my head and I am slowly losing it.

The elevator opened and me and my beta entered. The meeting was set in a conference room inside the building. I couldn't care less as long as the problem will be solved very soon. I still have a lot of things to do.

But the thoughts that occupied my brain earlier evaporated when the elevator doors opened and the most amazing smell took over all my senses, lavender, rose and honey combined, which made my wolf and I go crazy.

It was so sudden.

Like the summer-like hot day turning into a rainy afternoon. Like the falling and the breaking of the glass from your very hands. Like the flicker of lights in your dark room. Like the blink of an eye.

It was so sudden that I wasn't able to understand right away.

How one moment I was cold and brooding and the next, I am searching and looking for the owner of the scent without being able to understand the reason why. I was stuck inside the elevator drinking in the wonderful scent and calming my pacing and agitated wolf.

"Alpha,we need to go," said Rick, my trustworthy beta.

"Wait. Can you smell that?" I asked

"Smell what, Alpha?"

"That awfully beautiful smell. Like lavender, rose and honey combined." I answered him, still dazed and looking.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, but I don't smell such thing. However, we need to go. The meeting will be starting in two minutes. We can't afford to be late." He said.

"Alright. Let's go," I said with a sigh.

I stepped out of the elevator and glanced at the place. The area is clean and organized, with its white carpet and walls, and the furniture a light shade of brown with a glimpse of black and blue. The secretary stood up from his table and came to greet us and direct us to their conference room. Despite the intricate details and design of the place, my attention was still divided by the wonderful smell that seemed to grow so much more.

We entered the conference room and took our seats. There were a few others who are already present in the room, including the Beta of their pack, who greeted us with a shake of our hands. Alpha Robert is yet to arrive and I have only thin patience for his tardiness. Just as a minute has passed after 3, the double doors of the conference room opened and Alpha Robert entered.

He looked wise with gray hairs and minimal wrinkles of the skin but strong with a nice built and stand. He smiled as his eyes swerved the area and greeted me with a shake of the hands then went to the head of the table. Then and there, I realized there is another seat beside him and furrowed my brows.

"I'm sorry. But can we all wait a little longer?"

His refusal to allow the start of the meeting for another person's yet arrival made me furious. I happen to be one of the most feared Alphasof the strongest pack in America, yet I am asked to wait for someone who didnot value time and took responsibility well. My wolf growled at the subtle feeling of disrespect from this Alpha and the person we were waiting for.

I was about to stand up and leave the room when the doors of the conference room opened again and revealed the owner of the scent that I have been searching for the whole time. It opened to the most beautiful woman I have seen in my whole 28 years in earth; a woman with hair of the lightest color of blond and brightest blue eyes. A true goddess.

And in that moment I realized, that the person I was looking for all my life, the person I long to have in my arms every moment of my life, the person I crave to love, care and protect is finally in front of me.

Mate!

"I'm sorry for being late. I had some businesses I needed to settle first before attending this meeting. Please take your seats." She said in the sweetest voice coated with seriousness which also held a hint of mystery. I didn't even realize that I was standing still until my beta carefully dragged me back to my chair.

She walked towards me and suddenly I was wishing that she would look at me. I wished for her to recognize what I am to her and her to me. I wished to grab her and have her in my arms and never let go. She continued walking, probably towards the destination towards the seat next to her father and when she was finally next to me, reachable, she stopped and turned to look me in the eyes.

Then and there, I felt like all the defenses I have built for the past few years and the coldness off my heart broke and melted. But what she said with her sweetest voice and a sexy smirk in her face had me almost begging to my knees.

"Hello, mate. It's nice to finally meet you."
