Lily was filing her nails, waiting on Rick and Morty to get back. It's been a couple of months since she's came back. Her and Rick have been getting along for the most part and it's made her happy. The two scientists and their grandson, out on adventures. She sighed.
'I hope this wasn't a mistake.' She thought to herself. She saw the boys walking out of a portal. Morty looked horrified.
"Y-Y'know, these- these demonic alien spirits are really valuable." Morty started throwing up and Lily covered her nose. "You okay, Morty? I told you not to trust the tuna."
"I just killed my family!" Morty said. "I don't care what they were!"
"I don't know, Morty. Some people would pay top dollar for that kind of break through." Rick said nonchalantly
"Rick!" Lily said. He looked at her.
"What?" He asked.
"You know what, Rick?! That's it! I'm done with these insane adventures! That was really traumatising... That's it! I quit!" Morty started to walk out but Rick stopped him.
"Woah woah woah, come on, Morty! Don't- Don't be like that." Rick said.
"The universe is a crazy and chaotic place, sweetie." Lily said calmly.
"He's crazy and chaotic!" Morty shouted. "Adventures are suppose to be simple and fun." Rick and Lily crossed their arms, frowning.
"Oh yeah, Morty, yeah. That's really easy to say from the sidekicks position." Rick said.
"How about next time you be in charge and then we'll talk about how simple and fun it is?" Lily challenged. Rick looked at her. Morty got excited.
"Seriously, guys, y-you'll let me call the shots?" Rick decided to trust his ex-wife's judgement.
"Okay, yeah, fine. Let's make it interesting, Morty. If you're adventure sucks, and we bail halfway through it, you lose your right to bitch about anymore adventures. Plus, you have to do my laundry for a month." Rick crossed his arms.
"Rick, you know that's not fair." Lily shuddered at the memory of her ex-husband's laundry.
"okyay, alright, tough guy. But if my adventure is good, I get to be in charge of every third adventure." Morty bargained.
"Every tenth." The scientists retort.
"Deal. A-A-Alright. Let's go." Morty started dragging them.
"Dad, the dishwasher is doing that thing again?" Beth walked in.
"Washing dishes?" Rick asked.
"The opposite. Can you come fix in?" Summer was next to walk in.
"Grandma Lily, can you help me with my science homework?" She asked.
"Yeah. Don't do it." Lily replied.
"Grandma.." Summer whined. Jerry came in next.
"Hey, guys, you got some kind of hand-shaped device that can open this mayonnaise jar?" Jerry asked idiotically. Lily face palmed while Rick sighed.
"Alright, let's put a pin in this." Lily said.
"We have to go help your idiot family." Rick finished.
"Yeah that sounds like something chickens would say." Morty proceeded. The scientists glared at their grandson.
"Oh, Morty, you done did it this- this- this time." Rick said. "It's on."
"I can't wait for your adventure to lay a huge fart." Lily said. "As for you ding-dongs." Rick was rummaging through his stuff and pulled out a blue box with a button. Lily remembered the time they spent making it. She didn't expect him to keep after he thought she died.
