"how have you been, noona?" jimin ecstatically asks and goes in for a hug. i quickly step backwards, avoiding him.

"alright," i awkwardly nod, not really wanting this conversation to go on any longer.

"i've been great myself," he automatically answers, desperate to keep talking. "so have you picked a husband yet?"

"no," i shake my head. "which i really should
soon, so i'm gonna get going now. you should go look for jungkook, he's been dying to see you again. okay bye." i awkwardly dismiss myself, not giving him a chance to stop me from leaving.

i exhale deeply and look around for kook and taehyung. no luck so far.

i sigh and aimlessly make my way around the ballroom floor.

i see the shoe rested on a pedestal with its dirt stains and slash mark at the top. taehyung told me that he initialed the bottom with his family name to make sure it was truly his. the shoe that no prince will be able to fit into.

i bump into someone else without noticing. "sorry," i half bow half curtsy before stepping to the side, but they hold onto my shoulders.

"you just got here, why leave so soon?"

i look up and partially freeze.

"did you miss me?" prince yoongi smirks.

my hands start to get sweaty and my instinct is to start backing away.

"we had so many fun times before the wedding," he lowers his voice, ducking his head closer to mine to hide his mouth from others.

"yeah before i walked out," i tell him, taking another step back.

"such a shame really," he tchs. "maybe you can choose me again and we can finally finish the ceremony."

"okay, one, i didn't choose you. father did. i was forced to. and two, i'd never. even if i was dead and a ghost in the afterlife, i'd never even think of crossing paths with you," i spit.

"i'd like to think otherwise," he casually smirks, backing me up until i hit the wall and slamming his hand next to my head. "what do you say? marry me?"

"prince yoongi please back away," i calmly say. i shut my eyes so i don't have to see him.

"oh, but the fun has just started." his veiny hands finger my necklace that hung around my neck.

"go away," i say through my teeth.

"you heard her," an instantly recognizable voice says from next to us.

"who are you?" prince yoongi spits, backing away from me. i take this chance to quickly hurry over to my savior's side.

"none of your business," taehyung replies. "who are you to be making her feel so uncomfortable?"

"her fiancé-"

"that i did not agree with," i cut in. "i walked out the day of the wedding."

"that's it?" taehyung asks.

"and smashed cake on his back."

"that's more like it," he grins and my heart melts a little. he turns back to the older prince. "why are you still standing here? she said to go away, didn't she?"

"who are you?" prince yoongi asks. "what kingdom are you from? what's your name?"

"prince taehyung," i quickly answer for him. "he's not from here. i invited him myself. he came all the way from japan." i think of a lie on the spot.
