POV | Kylie

"You guys are from the lab?" Jane asks them.  Thirteen nods his head. "How'd you escape?" I ask them. "We follow you." Twelve replied.

"Oh" Jane remarked. "What powers do you guys have?" I asked them.

"I make fo-fo-force fi-fi-fields." Twelve stammered. He was looking behind me which made me turn. It was a demo-dog charging towards us. Jane gave it a dead eye and then cocked her head to the side making the demo-dog fly in the air and land inside the quarry.

"Woah." Thirteen said with gleaming eyes. "What's your power?" Jane asked Thirteen. "Telepatty" he said.

"You mean, Telepathy." I corrected. Can we trust them? Has the lab sent them to trick us?

I heard all that in Jane's head. I put my hand on her shoulder and smiled at her. Then, I looked at the boys.

Please help. We be good. Thirteen thought in his head. I thought maybe we should help these boys and let them tag along. "Okay! You boys come with us. We don't know the way out...but, don't worry. We will figure it out." I told them.

With that, we started walking the opposite direction, hoping to find a gate. "What your name?" Twelve asks us.

"I'm Eleven or Jane and this is Kylie." She says towards me and I wave at them. Twelve looks up at me and asks, "You not number?"

"Yes, I'm Ten. I don't like being called Ten though. Call me Kylie." I say to Twelve in one of the most kindest voices I can.

"I don't want to be Twelve." Twelve says and Thirteen agrees in response.

"Okay, so what do you guys want to be?" Jane asks them. Twelve thought for a while whereas Thirteen just looked up at us with this huge smile plastered across his face.

"I want to be Chair." Thirteen said to me with gleaming eyes. "Chair? Why Chair?" I asked him amused. "Thirteen, think something else." Twelve says to him causing Thirteen to pout in disappointment.

"I want to be Mark." Twelve told us. "That is a nice name. Mark. So, from now on you are Mark." Jane told him.

"Thirteen, you are up." I told Thirteen and he just looked at me. "I no want to be Up. I be Jason." He said to me and I laughed at his innocence.

"Okay, so Jason....how old are you?" Jane asked him. "He's 7 and I'm 9." Mark replied.

We kept walking around the place, absorbing the toxic atmosphere within ourselves.

"Hey! Look!" Jason exclaimed and jumped about happily. "What is it?" I asked him. "Light. We go out!" Jason said to me. I followed his finger that pointed to a ray of light.

And indeed, we'd been saved.

POV | Mike

"Guys, we have to do something," I paused and continued "about the girls." Everyone was awfully quiet. All I could get out of the boys was a "Hm." Max was weeping on the couch. She didn't take it too well and it definitely was really weird looking at her this way considering she was the most salty person in the room and would roast us the minute she had a chance too.

"Well, why don't we try the Upside Down?" Dustin said. Finally someone said something. "El closed it. Remember?" Lucas stated in a matter-of-factly tone. "Well, I'm positive that there is a gate." Dustin said.

"And how do you expect us to find it?" Will asked him. Lucas, Dustin and I look at eachother and at this moment I know, that we are thinking the same thing.

Compasses.

"Max, come on! We can try to find them." Lucas hurried over to Max. She looked up at him and at us. Dustin smiled at her and shook his head in agreement. "You......you guys know where they are?" She asked in a quivered voice.

"Yes! Come on!" Lucas pulled her up by her arm. "Guys, what's going on?" Will asked us. Oh, right. He didn't know.

"No time. I'll explain it to you one the way. Just trust us." I soothed him. "I....I don't want to go near the gate." He looked at me with scared eyes.

"Want to stay here with Jonathan and Nancy?" I ask him. "Just drop me home." Will replies. The Upside Down really affected him.

"Guys, what are we waiting for? Christmas?" Max yells. Well, she's back.

We make our way to the quarry. The four of us on our bikes and Max on her board. After we drop Will off at his house, we keep all our bikes and Max her board at Will's house. From there we walk, guided by Dustin's compass.

"How much more?" Max asks tired. "I don't know, we should have been here by now." Dustin says. "May I carry you Ms. Mayfield?" Lucas says while wiggling his eyebrows at Max. "You wish." Max snickers at Lucas.

"I get what I want." With saying that, Lucas carries Max bridal style. "What are you doing?" Max screams and then looks into Lucas's eyes before planting a small kiss on his lips.

El, I miss you.

"You guys are so gross." Dustin says as he walks ahead of us. "Guys, we are here!" Dustin says. "So, where's the gate?" I ask him. "Let's look around. But I know its here because the compass shown maximum deflection right here." Dustin states.

Max gets off Lucas's arms and joins us I the search for a gate.

"Ew." Max says while looking at her hands which she retrieved from a tree. The gate. "You found it." Lucas says.
