Mend's P.O.V
I jump tree to tree gracefully through the solitude jungles in Brazil. I'm originally from Australia, but I came here for one reason; the healing herbs. I'm an herbalist you see, and a lot of important remedies lye in these thick dense jungles most that humans could never find, even if they tried. Good thing I'm not one of them
My heart races as I pick up the pace and finally find the crowned jewel of my travels; the Moroccan Jungle Fruit. It's juice can heal internal wounds and most flues, and it's skin is rejuvenating for sunburns. I marvel at the treasure, but realize it's too high for me to reach, and on such a weak branch I couldn't climb on it. "Shit", I mutter under my breath, my Aussie accent slipping out.
I pull my bow off of my shoulder and put a sharp wooden arrow on it. I pull back and focus on my target. I exhale slowly and release the arrow, it hitting the center of the bright orange fruit flawlessly. As it drops, I jump and grab it just in time, but fall as I do so. "AAAHHH!", I say reaching for something to grab, my fear of heights showing more than ever.
I land on the hard ground, the fruit falling safely onto my chest. I let out a long groan and sigh, but soon get up and pull out a flask from my quiver. I pull out the arrow, and fill some of the pink liquid pouring out of the fruit into the flask. I push the lid on the flask tightly, and continue to my home, well temporary home.
As I venture back, I catch a glimpse of a pond and take a look at my reflection, almost bursting into tears. "The last of my kind", I say letting a single tear fall down my cheek. I am from the Pooka species, an animal so merry and beautiful, said to be so beautiful and content that it was killed off of envy. I've seen mothers, lovers, children, fathers, and friends be tortured and die in front of their loved ones.
I start to weep, and stare at my face and body; my black matted fur, with white markings over my arms, temple, cheeks, legs, and back. I stare into my reflection's golden eyes, tempted to just end my life there. I don't have anyone left, and have lived 2,032 years after the death of my species. 2,032 years of pure loneliness.
I angrily slash my reflection and head forward. I go back to a small mountain, a little crevices visable. That be my place, yep home sweet home.
I enter, and put the flask on a marked shelf, and my bow on the table. I lay down on my pile of leaves, which is all I have as a bed, and fall into a deep slumber. Before I go to bed, each night I hope I will find another Pooka, or just someone to talk to. 2,032 years probably ruins your ability to be socially normal, but I frankly don't care. I will never lose hope. Hope is all I have left.
Sorry guys for a short chapter but do you guys like my OC? I wanted this fanfic to be different from most Bunnymund x OC fanfics, and I hope I won't let you down. This first chapter is dedicated to my friend and RotG fangirl buddy Rachel Dragneel. I'll try and update soon. Love you
Chapter Two: Bunnymund's P.O.V
I wake up to the feeling of cold air lingering in my bluish-greyish fur. I storm out of my bed, and grab my boomerangs off of a nearby table. "Frostbite", I growl hopping into the Warren and seeing the Winter Spirit.
"Hey Kangaroo", he says smirking, using the nickname I loathe so much. I throw a boomerang at him, but he nonchalantly freezes it by tapping it with his staff. He has gone far enough! I know North always says "Let him be, he's just a meer child", but even my little ankle biter Sophie is more behaved then him.
"What do ya want mate? I didn't order myself a wake up call", I mutter restraining myself from attacking him. Oh just great! now the bloody show pony is freezing my googies! "Behold the great and noble Guardian of Winter", I whisper to myself.
Soon I can see the beautiful aurora borealis (the Northern Lights), shining more than ever. The beautiful gleaming of these ancient sea like lights could only mean one thing. "Guardian meeting at the Pole, so North wanted me to fetch your furry ass out of hibernation", Jack says smiling.
"I do not hibernate! Alright mate I'll meet you there", I say about to make a tunnel to the Pole. "Oh no! Air Frost is faster", Jack says making me completely confused. "Air Frost?", I repeat over and over in my head, before spontaneously the wind picks me up off of the ground.
I claw at the air and try and squirm out of it, but all this makes is Jack smirk. "C'mon Frostbite, ya know I have a thing for heights", I say curling up into a ball. He just chuckles and motions the wind, us soon flying out of the Warren and to the Pole.
As we get to the Pole, I punch Jack in the arm, making him slightly wince. "That's for the ride up, Mate", I say sneering at him. "Aster! Great to see you! I assume Jack treated you vell, Da?", the jolly Russian man who goes by North says. "Yeah because someone who's deathly afraid of heights love bloody Air Frost!", I say almost spazzing out on Frostbite again.
"Air Frost?", North says confused furrowing his silver eye brows. "Any vay, we have grave news Bunny", North says changing the subject awkwardly. Sandy signs very quickly with the symbols of a skull and cross bone, and the female symnol. "What is it mate? Is the bloody asshole Pitch again. How could it be North? We got rid of him. He was banished, and can only do his dirty work of nightmares to the children", I say skeptically.
"No Bunny. Even worse. We have to deal with a vengeful sister", Tooth says flying in nervously.
"Death is coming, and she's not alone", North says looking at us without that look of wonder in his bright big eyes.
"Who's teaming up with her?", I ask in total shock. Death is scary on her own, especially when you piss her off. She is Death after all!!! If she has any allies we're screwed.
"His daughter", Tooth says almost bursting into tears. My jaw drops at this. No way Pitch's daughter would team up with the evils. She's one of us after all. One of the spirits that is supposed to protect the children not harm them.
"Not her", I say in disbelief. Please no. She's controller of Life! we'd never be able to beat her! Her and Death would butcher us for goodness sakes!!!
"Indeed. Mother Nature", North says looking as almost as shocked as me.
Whale then... PLOT TWIST!!! DUN DUN DAAAA!!! The OC's of mine are Pitch's sister, but I do not own Mother Nature. From what I heard in the actual Rise of the Guardians book series Pitch's daughter IS Mother Nature, so I thought I'd incorporate her. I hope you guys like it!!
