(Y/N) strummed her guitar tunelessly, thinking about the troubles life was giving her. Yet, she never lost hope that things would better. Right now, her parents were on the edge o a divorce, and neither of them wanted to take (Y/N) with them. She knew that from the yelling in the kitchen. (Y/N) had hardly been able to sleep because of their arguing, and it was severely effecting her physical health.

But, these times were where music came in, at least in her opinion. Music was the perfect stress reliever, and there was always something to match how you were feeling. A rustling to her left shook (Y/N) out of her thoughts. "Hey Janet. What brings you here to my humble abode?" Janet ended falling out of her hiding place in a bush and laughing to tears. (Y/N) chuckled with her childhood friend until Janet could redeem herself.

"Humble Abode? Really (Y/N)?" She paused to laugh. "Anyway, you still coming to the party?" (Y/N) frowned at her friend. Janet was always nagging her about how great her music was. Now, Janet wanted her to play at a party with a lot of important people. People with lots of money and social status. (Y/N) gave a heavy sigh, she wasn't ready to embarrass herself in front of people who were going to ruin her already messy life if they didn't like her music.

"Come on (Y/N)! It's time to stop hiding your talent! The whole world needs to hear your voice! It's selfish to keep your mouth shut!" Janet yelled, pinching (Y/N)'s cheeks. "Please?" Janet asked, pouting, even (Y/N) couldn't say no to it. "Fine." She huffed, clearly not wanting to admit to her defeat. Janet began cheering and running around the small backyard. "See ya at the party (Y/N)!" And with that, (Y/N) was getting ready for a party, a thing that she was dreading.

'Please don't screw up.'
