Magical Beings

  It was a hot, humid day in June. School was out and six best friends were getting ready for summer vacation. This was the last time they would all see each other before high school. 

 " Keep in touch." Vela said to her friends Shreya, and Jaya.

 They hugged each other before their friends Kane, Adam and Felix walked over. They all talked and said their final goodbyes. All of a sudden a guts of wind blew near them. Jaya and her friends turned and saw a middle aged woman wearing a black robe, staring at them.  She had a smug look on her face. Something was not right and the friends sensed it. 

  " I have found them, finally!" she cackled. She did a little dance and laughed. " I have waited a hundred years for all of you." she remarked. She walked closer to them but they backed up .

  " What the hell is going on?" Kane asked. The friends gave each other horrified looks.

  " You six possess the greatest magic known to man,  I can finally train you." the woman claimed.

   " Are you on something?" Jaya asked. " We can take you to a hospital." Shreya said.  

  " No," the woman said taking out six pictures from her robe. The friends looked at the pictures. The people looked similar to them but from a different time. 

 " These are your relatives and they were witches and wizards. Therefore, all of you are too."  The friends stood looking stunned. 

  " I can prove it to you. Hold hands and focus on that tree. " she commanded. They did as they were told.  The wind blew strongly, and all of the leaves fell off in a swift motion.

  " Woah, what the hell?" Adam gasped. Each of the kids felt as if all their engery had been drained. They now believed the strange woman . 

   " I will explain later. Just meet me at here at ten o'clock tonight. Come together and bring no one with you." they heard. With that the woman was gone and the friends looked at each, other unsure of the future. Jaya could not believe what just happened and she knew her friends felt the same. They believed this woman but, did they trust her enough to meet her later? 

   Jaya and her friends meet up at the beach later. They waited for the woman.

" Are we sure about this?"  Felix asked puzzled.

 " You saw and felt what happened to the tree. I know she didn't do it cause our eyes were open the whole time. We did that and I'm scared  of this "magic". At least she can help us control it." Vela said.

  " True but she is weird and came out of nowhere. School's out and we are going to different schools a-and this is to much." Shreya retorted. 

  The woman appeared at ten on the dot . She was brimming from ear to ear, proud of her find.

" I'm glad you all showed and will tell as much as you want ot know. I know you are scared but, I can only help if the six of you become a coven." She told them.

 " What do you mean a coven?" asked Kane quizically.

" A coven, tribe or circle of six. All the same thing but, you must be bound to each other for me to help you control your powers. " the woman answered. 

  " How do we become bound or whatever? " Felix remarked rolling his eyes.

"  You must all chant  some words and combine  a drop of blood each. Very harmless and easy." she said.

 " Blood you never said anything about blood. I hate blood." Adam muttered.

" You fool, if you hate blood then you hate your whole body, which is flowing with blood." Jaya and Vela exclaimed together. 

 " Enough, you must be bound otherwise on your own evil will get you. Your powers are wonderful but, many creatures will come to claim them. I will help only if and when you are bound as a coven." said the woman.  

  The friends didn't say a word. Each one thinking to themselves whether this was a good idea. Did they really understand the full meaning of becoming bound. The silence was growing thick.

" Did you say creatures?" Adam asked breaking, the silence.

His friends just sighed and looked at the woman.  Then Shreya told the woman they would become bound, on behalf of her friends. 

" Do you think this is a good idea Jay?" Kane asked,knowing if she thought it was good thne it was.

" I agree with Shreya, it's for our own good." Jaya said. Then her five friends joined her and held hands.

  The woman watched smiling as they each pricked their finger and let the blood fall in a goblet. Then she said a spell and put strange things into the goblet.

" Repeat after me." She commanded the friends. "  Tenetur per sanguinem et spiritus aeternum!"

The friends repeated and the goblet glowed with fire. They felt different somehow and knew they would never again be the same. They unheld  their hands and watched the woman.

" I can now train you my great ones!" She screamed with a laugh. 

" Tell us your name." Vela commanded.

" You will find out soon enough if you follow my commands." The woman said before vanishing into thin air.

The friends heard a scream, laugh and howl just as they were leaving for home.  There fear only increased but knew the woman would hopefully explain. However, they still felt uneasy as they walked home.

What had these six friends gotten themselves into?
