The Smell Of Blueberry Pie

Chapter 8

Nick's POV

Judy looked at Gideon "Gid really? Did you agree to drink before the bar? I never really thought of you as a drinker."

Gid? That's a cute nickname I'll have to use it sometime. But I can't believe I just did that, I kissed him! Well, it was his fault he did start it, well made it look like he was going to start it. Even though it turned out he really just tripped and fell on me. But I got a chance to kiss those blushing cheeks of his. And he was getting into that second kiss, what am I kidding I was getting into it too.

"Well now that you two are drunk I guess that leaves me to drive us all there," Judy sighed.

Nick tossed his key to her, "Yup that's the plan Carrots! But don't worry I'll drive you home, let's go!" They all left Nick's apartment.

They walked into the bar and Nick looked at Gid as they walked in, Gideon looked around in awe. I guess he's never been to a bar like this before. They sat down at a table and they all ordered some drinks and talked.
"So Gid you're going to open a bakery here in Zootopia, how are you going to do that?" Judy asked.

Gideon sighed "Well tomorrow ah go and meet with the realtor lady and she has some papers for me to sign. Then ah have an appointment at the bank to get a loan to speed up the start of my new bakery. Ah'm actually kinda nervous about that part."

"Oh don't worry Gideon you can do it no problem!" Judy tried to reassure him.

"Yeah Gid you won't have to worry make a pie for the guy you have to talk to and I'm sure that'll make up their mind." He smiled at Gideon he also blushed a bit when Nick used his nickname.

"Wait if you have a meeting tomorrow should you not be drinking the night before?" Judy asked.

Gideon laughed "Don't worry Judy this isn't my first time drinking."

After a little more talking a wolf come up to their table and asked Judy to dance. Which left Nick and Gideon together, Nick looked at Gideon "So about early?" he asked.
Gideon turned bright red, "Y-yeah what about it?" He looked away from Nick for a second but then looked back again.
"Well, how was it? And you know would you want to do it again sometime?" Nick raised his eyebrows up and down. The question made Gideon even redder, he looked away again and scratched the back of his neck.

"Well, a-ah guess ah kinda liked it." He said with a shy smile. "And ah mean ah don't know if ah'd be any good at it. A-ah haven't really kissed anyone for a long time."

"Well, you were certainly off to a good start."

"Well, thanks." Gideon blushed and smiled at Nick.

"So about the first date, would you count this whole day as one?"

"Ah think the whole day counts, ah had a lot of fun today with ya." Gideon smiled at him.

Nick looked at Gideon and smiled back and moved closer to him and put his paw on Gideon's. Gideon looked down and blushed and looked away slightly and moved a bit closer to him. Gid turned his hand over and their fingers laced together. Then Nick leaned close to Gideon and kissed his bright red cheek which caused them to get redder. But then an obviously drunk sheep walked by and she must have noticed because they both heard her squeal and say how cute they were together to her friend.
Which now caused Nick himself to blush a bit, public display of affection was still a new thing for him.

I already want to ask him out, but I should wait till at least the third date. Wait I wonder where he's staying tonight?

Just then Judy sat back down at their table with the wolf from earlier.
