WELCOME HOME
Nakasulat yan sa isang banner pagpasok namin ng mansyon, ang dati naming bahay. There are a lot to remember here. Dito ako lumaki, dito kami unang nagkakilala ni Zeke.
Inikot ko ang aking mga mata, my friends are here. Including my ex, his parents and some other relatives.
Dad is so happy seeing his friends, his siblings, and ofcourse his cousins. Minadali namin ang paguwi ng Pilipinas sa kagustuhan na rin ni Daddy he doesn't want to stay in the hospital dahil dun din naman daw sya mauuwi. So he chooses to go back home, he wants to be buried beside his parents.
Hindi pa man din sya pumapanaw ay pinaghahandaan nya na ang lahat. Lahat sila masaya, they don't know that Dad is sick, not yet. Except for PB and Aaron. I don't know if Zeke already knows it.
I just texted Cj that we already arrived home. Wala naman akong nakuhang sagot mula sa kanya kaya minabuti kong itago na lamang ulit ang phone ko.
PB hugged me. Gusto kong muling maiyak pero pinipigilan ko. Ayokong iispoil ang announcement ni Daddy.
"Thank you all for coming today" Daddy. He still has that smile on his face, tho I know he's hurting inside. "Why don't we eat lunch first? Shall we?" Everyone nods and followed us to the garden where the maids setup a buffet table. All the foods served was Daddy's favorite dishes.
"Kuya, how's New York?" tanong ni Tita Juliet, Dad's youngest sibling.
"It was fine, the business is doing good" sagot ni Daddy, bukod kasi sa Jacinto Empire na pagaari ni Gran ay may sariling negosyo din ang mga Del Fierro. Dad is the only Son that's why skanya napunta ang pangangalaga ng kompanya.
And now what? For sure I will be in charge. I will be needing to wait until Lyndon turns 21 or so.
"And how about you Leigh?" Tanong ni Tita Janice. How's your work?
Hindi kasi nila alam na nasa Jacinto Empire ako ngayon, and Zeke is here I don't want him to know that I am the CEO's granddaughter.
"It was fine Tita, I'm doing good. Actually, I am handling my staffs well" Sagot ko.
Si Dad ang sumabat "Good thing that you can handle your people very well, hindi ka na mahihirapan maghandle ng DFI" Sabi ni Dad. Nalungkot na naman ako, we talked about that back in LA. Pero ayoko pa rin tanggapin.
"Ano bang sinasabi mo kuya? Why does it seemed that you're bidding goodbye?" sabi ni Tita Janice.
Lahat sila ay tumingin kay Dad.
"Okay then, the purpose of this lunch gathering is about my announcement. I actually don't wanna ruin your mood but it is important for you to know since I only have less than a week to live" Daddy.
