Walking across the streets with the bright stars ornating the sky. Minghao walked along the pavement, avoiding to step on the lines of the concrete ground. Playing his mini game, he wasn't aware that the wind got stronger until he heard the sound of rumbling thunder.
He didn't want to return home just yet, as he already reached so far. He saw a convenient store ahead of him so he instinctively entered and bought an umbrella. He paid the cashier the exact amount and stepped out of the store. He quickly opened the umbrella although the sky has yet to let out it's tears and continued his little game of avoiding to step on the lines.
His destination was still so far away but he felt like walking so he did not hire a cab. Under such a comfortable and breezy weather, he just can't help but feel that it would be a waste if he hired a cab.
Droplets of rain started drizzling down, forming puddles of water on the ground. The sound of raindrops hitting on the umbrella was so calming it instantly became Minghao's favorite sound. Now, Minghao's little game changed, instead of avoiding the lines he now avoids the puddles. He smiled to himself when he reminisce the time when he used to play this game so often.
There were very few people by the streets now, given the current time and also the weather. This gave Minghao an illusion that he was alone. That thought gave him courage. Courage to sing out loud in public and so he did. Singing in the rain.
A few people who passed by him didn't bother to spare him a glance because they were rushing back home with a single thought in their minds: to avoid the rain. To miss such a beautiful voice from such an aesthetic figure truly are their lost.
Occasionally, cars would passby. Minghao can hear them approaching him from the back by the sounds of their tyres going through the puddles. He knew that the puddles of water would hit him sooner or later but he didn't mind. His goal is to avoid puddles on the ground not incoming water splashes by cars.
After a long walk under the rain, Minghao's destination came into sight. The rain has gradually stopped. A flock of pigeons flew pass him and he wished for them to fly safely without fearing the thunder or lightning above them.
Arrived at his destination, he looked around and saw no sign of her. He smiled to himself again, thinking back to the past not long ago. A single tear escaped his eye as he sat down on the wet surface. He hugged both his legs, still holding on to the umbrella tight as the rain started to fall once again.
His watch ticked signalling that it was already midnight. Smiling to himself while shedding tears, he whispered, "I'm here". Upon him was the grave of his late girlfriend.
