Tonight is opening night and I'm super nervous, like extremely. There's people out in the crowd who could change my life, they could change my sister's life with my performance. I managed to pull some strings and get Summer and some of her friends selling baked goods for their trip to France. Even though all her friends parents could pay the trip without the fund raising, the school made it mandatory to do it. I'm happy that I'm able to send Summer on the trip.
Enrico, Anouk and Connie where going crazy. They were making sure that everyone was doing everything they were supposed to. I had just left the hair and makeup chair so I was just stretching behind the curtain. I was partnered with my friend Patrick who's playing the part of Prince Siegfried, he's the hero of the story; a handsome Prince who falls in love with Odette.
"I saw Summer downstairs," Patrick smiled as he help stretch my legs.
"Yeah, her and some of her friends are doing a fund raising thing for school."
"Where's she been this week? I've not seen her at practice since her birthday on Saturday." He asked as I changed legs.
"She's got a boyfriend, his name is Jakob. He's been taking her out while I've been at practice." I smiled, she's happy so that makes me happy.
"Curtains open in 5 minuets so places!" Anouk clapped running over to me and Patrick. "Shine like stars!" She smiled fixing my hair a little and then kissed both my cheeks.
"Good luck!" I whispered to Patrick before taking my place.
"Good luck." He mouthed over to me as the red curtains opened.
The first night went amazingly, I never made one mistake and neither did anyone else. It was amazing how many people were in the crowds watching, it was the biggest showed I'd ever done. I also forgot the the recruitment companies were in the crowds which was a good thing because I would have probably worried and made some mistakes. I was so happy with my group and myself but before I changed or even celebrated I ran down to check on Summer.
"Valley, Oh my God! You were so great, that's the best I've ever seen you dance!" Summer threw herself at me and I wrapped my arms around her.
"Thanks, how did you do?" I asked walking over to her table seeing that it was all packed away and some boxes of money that was once filled with the baked goods, sat full of the money they made.
"We did great, we sold out just before show time so I came in and watched you. It was amazing the way you danced, I see you dance most days but put together..." She sighed with a big smile.
"Excuse me, Valentine Taylor?" I turned to see a little group of people in suits stand in front of me.
"Yes, that's me!" I nodded and the woman that had spoke smiled at me.
"Valentine, I'm Rosa Andrews from Pointe magazine and I was wondering that if your free sometime, would you mind giving me an interview?" She asked with her smile still on her face.
"Yeah, sure, not a problem." I smiled as Summer squeezed my had tighter.
Rosa handed me a card and told me to get in touch and they'll send someone to interview me. After Rosa was a modelling agency that wanted me to be a model for some photo shoots and of course I accepted that because that means more money for Summer and I. I got some offers from some other dancing schools and then I was alone with my sister again as the crowds started to leave the building.
"Valley!" Summer squealed again pulling me into another hug. "You are going to be famous." She whispered in my ear with excitement.
"Don't talk rubbish, now I have to go get changed, just come on back when you're done out here." I kissed her head and the started to walk back to my dressing room.
