In a small town in the backwoods of Kentucky, a group of teenagers have acquired some unique abilities. It all started on a the 4th of July 1940, the group of teens was at the local swimming hole. Hank and Pete had snuck some of their dad's beer out of the house and brought it for the others to enjoy. It was just another day until Wayne, the youngest boy at age 17, noticed something falling from the sky.
"Guys look! There's something in the sky!" He shouted. The rest of the group exclaimed their thoughts. Soon the object went out of site and the boys heard the crash not to far away in the woods nearby. "Let's go check it out" John suggested. The rest of the group agreed and followed Johns lead. They arrived to find an glowing blue egg shaped object in a small crater. "Guys, I don't think we should be this close to it." Wayne said frightened by the mysterious object.
"Oh, don't be such a wuss." Pete said "it's harmless" Pete slowly started walking towards the egg shaped object. "Pick it up" John said. As Pete got closer the object began to glow more brightly. Pete reached out and touched it. As he did a bright flash and loud deafening shockwave burst throughout the woods, and knocked the guys unconscious. Hank was the first to awaken, realising a few hours had passed since it was dark out. "Guys? Is everyone okay?" He shouted trying to locate his friends. He glanced around and noticed a small fire burning by a nearby tree. He got up and went to investigate, when he got closer he realized his friend John was still unconscious and his hands was on fire. He rushed to put the fire out by tossing dirt on it. Once the fire was out John woke up dazed and confused. "What's going on?" He asked. "You was on fire man!" Hank exclaimed. "What? I don't feel burnt?" John said confused. "Look let's find the rest of the guys something weird going on."hank suggested. So John and hank searched for the others. They found Pete unconscious with plant roots coiling around his hands and arms. After waking him up and trying to explain what's happened so far they searched for the last boy Wayne. When they finally found Wayne he was laying in a bush unconscious. They woke him up, he was pretty stunned far worse then the rest of the guys. He could barely talk. His voice was horse and very raspy. When he finally was able to actually speak his voice produced a sound wave that pushed over a full grown oak tree. The event terrified the guys. "What the hell guys!" Pete and John said simultaneously. "Guys what's if that thing that fell gave us some kind of powers?" Hank suggested. The group looked at each other stunned.
"Hear me out. Wayne is doing this crazy voice thing. Pete your hands and arms was covered with plant rooms, and John your hands was on fire but you wasn't burnt?" Wayne went to say something but John stopped him "woah! Don't talk we don't know what your voice will destroy next time you talk." Pete stood up "guys let's get home and we'll figure this out. The boys walked home and stayed at Petes house. The boys decided that it was to dangerous for Wayne to speak until they had figured out what his new powers could do Wayne agreed not to talk until he found out if he could control it. So over the next five months the boys would sneak off to the woods and practice controlling their new found abilities. Unknowing to them they was about to face an even bigger challenge.
