Percy's POV
Fate has always been cruel with me. I've had to save the world two times, killed a lot of monsters, and have seen too many people die for my liking. But I have always kept strong for them, because I don't want them to think that they died for nothing. I defeated Kronos, and Gaia. I felt like the Fates would never give me a break. Finally, I was starting to become happy. I had my friends, and my great girlfriend, Annabeth, with me. But it was over too soon. My half-brother, Kurt, arrived, and that was the start of my many betrayals.
He was nice to me and everybody in camp, that is, until he was given a quest. He invited me and Jason with him. We were to defeat the kraken, which was in the Sea of Monsters. When we arrived, the kraken tried to sink our ship. The first look at the monster, Kurt fainted. Jason and I had to kill it ourselves. After that we went back to camp. Kurt woke up and bragged that he had killed it while Jason and I had fainted. Everybody believed him except for our friends. But that was taken away too when Kurt had stolen stuff from them and blamed me. Piper, Leo, Calypso (Leo convinced the gods to release her after we killed Gaia), Katie, and the Stolls were taken away from me, too. Annabeth believed me, but I think she was getting distant with me, too. Nico, Thalia, and Jason were on my side. They saw Kurt steal their stuff. They defended me through everything, even when my father tossed me to the side, saying Kurt was his favorite son, basically disowning me. Now I don't call him father anymore. I just call him Poseidon.
After everything, I was still happy. With Annabeth beside me, I was pretty sure I would always be happy. So, I decided to propose to her. I had to ask Athena for permission first. She sent me to get the Apples of the Hesperides. I had to train in the wilderness for four months. I then decided to get started on the ring, but I needed some help, so I asked Hephaestus.
I went back to camp, decided to propose to Annabeth at the campfire. I heard lots of cheering. I quickly ran towards the campfire. What I saw there shattered my heart to pieces. I saw Kurt kissing Annabeth passionately. The worse thing was that Annabeth had kissed back, just as passionately. Nico, Thalia, and Jason were standing there, looks of fury on their faces, but it changed to pity when they saw me. They ran towards me, afraid that I was going to break down right then and there.
I walked towards Annabeth and Kurt, shoving through people in the way. Once people realized it was me, they closed their mouths, not daring to open it. After a few seconds, I was finally in the front. I could see Poseidon there, smiling brightly, but it faltered when he saw me. The silence was deafening. The fire was dark blue, close to black. I could feel the tension in the air. It was huge, and it was still growing each second I was silent. Only one word came out of my mouth.
"Why?" It was barely audible, but I knew everybody here heard it. I was close to tears, but I was determined to keep it inside. I took the ring out of its box leaving it on my hand for a few seconds.
The ring was made out of celestial bronze and gold. It had a huge sea-green diamond and engraved on it was Forever Always in gray, the exact same color as Annabeth's eyes. I could hear the girls gasping, staring at it, admiring it. Before I knew what I was doing, I threw the ring at the floor and ran. I ran from everything and everyone, not caring that my last three friends were following me. I walked in the Poseidon cabin and grabbed one of my already packed duffel bags and walked out, and stood right in front of Thalia, Nico, and Jason.
"What are you doing?" asked Thalia.
"I'm leaving."
"We're coming with you." said Jason.
I kept on walking.
"Where are we going to go?"
"Anywhere but here."
"Why?"
"Because I'm making a new life."And I kept walking not looking back once.
Hey, guys. This is my first fanfic to Percy Jackson so I'm trying my best to work on it. I am overly obsessed with Percy. Don't worry, people that hate Percabeth. I won't make Percy like her. Who would want to date a two-faced backstabber. Personally, I wouldn't want too. I'll try to update soon. Until then, BYE! (Edit: This A/N was a bit aggressive. I love Percabeth, just not in Son Of Chaos books.)
Thalia: Did you forget something?
Me: Um...no?
Nico: The disclaimer, duh.
Me: Do I have to?
Jason: Unless you want to die, then yes, yes you do.
Percy: Why did you make me feel bad in this story? I'm happy Rick owns us.
Me: Percy, that's rude. Remember, I can make you do whatever I want.
Percy: I'll back off.
Me: Thank you. And fine, I'll say the disclaimer.
Thalia: *mutters* No shit, Sherlock.
Me: I heard that! OK... what was I supposed to say, again?
Everybody: THE DISCLAIMER!!!!!
Me: FINE, fine. Rick owns all these characters, not me. There, HAPPY!?
