The Artoniens had just crash landed on earth, and they were fleeing to the woods for safety. All of the police officers were shooting the Artoniens with tasers and stun guns. They were afraid of what they didn't know, and that will later be proven as a big mistake.

As the leader of the Artoniens got captured, he told his son, Josh to run into the woods with the others. Josh did as he was told and ran as far as his 7-year-old-legs could carry him. Which lead him to a shed, of course as an Artonien, he didn't know what a shed was, so he went inside and hid. He made noise while doing so, and a little girl (who was in her house at the time), heard this noise come from her shed and she went out to investigate. To her surprise, she found something that looked like a little boy with some tattoos, so she asked his name. He pointed to himself and said "Josh" and she said her name was Emma.

She quickly went inside and came back out with a blanket and a snack to give the boy. He didn't speak very good English, but his dad had taught him a few words while they were back home. They talked a little bit and Emma took out a piece of string, and looped it into a game of cats cradle. She told him to try but he failed, and then the door to the shed flew open.

Emma's parents had been looking for her because it was night and she wasn't supposed to be outside (because the spaceship had crashed only a block away). At the sight of the Artonien, her parents quickly grabbed her away and called over a patroller. The patroller showed up in no time and shot the boy, and carried him away. But, this wasn't a stun gun or taser, it was a real gun.

Josh, being an Artonien, Survived the wound, but the fast pasted healing process hurt the child. The guard ignored the boy's screams and brought him to the 'pods'. The pods were a fenced area with small pod rooms, and lots of scraps of trash. All the Artoniens were brought there, and forced to stay within the fences. As soon as Josh was brought there, crying and screaming in pain, his dad ran over to him to see if he was okay.

His dad was outraged by what he had discovered, his son had been shot, with a REAL gun. The scar was still there and his son was still crying, but he wasn't bleeding because Artoniens heal quickly, but it still hurts them, a lot. Josh's dad engulfed him in a hug, even though he was still Infuriated with the whole situation. He had been trying to explain all night, that they didn't want to take over, but to fix their spaceship and leave.

After picking up his son, he marched over to the closest guard and started to talk to him "I am the leader of this group and this is my son. These are my friends, family, and comrades. I humbly ask that you let us fix our ship and leave your planet, before anyone else gets hurt." He seemed quite calm, for the fact that his son was just shot.

"Not a chance" the guard replied with a scowl.

"I CANNOT STAND BY WHILE YOU HURT MY PEOPLE!" Shero (Josh's dad) shouted for he was very upset, and frustrated.

"These are not people. They are aliens from outer space, and you are one of them. And ALIENS do not deserve to make deals." the guard said in a calm voice. And Shero did not like this answer at all. But, there was nothing he could do about it. So, he looked back toward his very confused son, who knew very little English, and decided that he needed to teach Josh and other Artoniens English, because he had a feeling that they wouldn't be allowed to go near their ship for a while.
