Chapter 1: The Aether

CakeLead’s Point Of View

“ If you follow your dreams, you’ll accomplish anything, even if it’s your imagination.”

That’s what my dad always said to me every day. Every day that is, until Herobrine killed him.  It was a horrible night, everyone in the village screaming and shouting, even the NPCs that lived with us. I was the only survivor.  My father was the only one in the village to stand up to Herobrine, and the only one personally killed by him.  I was only 6 then, and almost got killed by the flames.  I ran away, as it was the only thing I could do.  I ran until I reached the cave that my dad and I usually mined in.  When I found the Mob Spawner, I cried into the arms of Fred the Enderman, my only friend.

“s’tahW gnorw?” he asked, a concerned look in his purple eyes.

“yM egalliv sah neeb deyortsed, dna m’I eht ylno rovivrus.” I responded through sobs.  I didn’t know why at the time, but for some reason, what sounded like weird noises to others, were words to me.

“eW dluoc evil ni eht End!” He suggested hopefully.

“ehT Ender Dragon dluow llik em.” I said, certain that that would be the end of me.

“uoY dluoc yrt ot evil ni Aether ro Nether.” He said.

“toG yna enotswolG?” I asked, changing the subject to building portals.

“14 yltcaxe!” He said, quite excitedly, but with a hint of sadness in his voice. He handed me the glowstone and I quickly made an Aether portal.

“tcefreP!” I exclaimed. I said goodbye to Fred and stepped in, traveling to the Aether.
