It was that day. The day I stood outside the venue on the glistening marble steps aside the cherry blossom trees. My future wife... No my wife. Lilith...

The bell rings a normal day in a messed up society where I am forced with a girl I have never met into marriage. I stare into the wooden desk which i rest  my arms upon. I begin to finish off work I was assigned the previous day with a puzzled face. Erina Bristol a childhood friend wanders into the classroom we're both in year 11 she smiles at my her glossy lips shining in the sunlight just like they did when we were younger aged 8

I look up to to her soft face and silky hair and ocean blue eyes above me "Hi Marco is been a while" she looks at me the rays of sun beaming off her face making her appear goddess like.  "It has hasn't it" I stutter back nervously trying not to blush from her shear beauty.
"I hope we can get along together like we did when we were kids Marco " she stumbles out looking into my eyes.
"It looks like I'm sitting next to you for the final year I look forward to it." She gazes at me blushing slowly turning red like a rose in the spring sun.

The day advances dragging is of to say I was stuck there at that very wooden desk for eternity. The bell chimes bringing the day to a close. Myself and the rest of the class begin to pack our things away. I walk over to my usual group of friends Luca, Tomoy and Niko. "Hey Marco you had your notice m" the trio harmonically question. "What notice?" I reply puzzled "The one about your future wife!?" Swiftly firing back at me.
"When the clock strikes twelve my friends I hope i get my dearest, the one closest to my heart." I attempt to reply without stumbling over my own nonsense.
"You've always been like that huh."  Luca returned "well I guess we will have to find out... anyway I'm off home see you guys tomorrow." I reply. Erina's hair and her deep blue eyes meet mine before I retreat home for the evening.

As I lay their the clock ticking down to my sixteenth I begin wondering hoping my future wife is Erina Bristol my childhood friend. It's eleven forty at night I inform my parents I'm going for a short walk before I'm sixteen... As I leave the house and close the wooden door behind me Erina finds my gaze in front of my gateway
" I'm going for a short walk before my sixteenth would you like to join me Erina?" I ask her our gaze not splitting "I'd love to Marco." We walk down the stretching pavement before retiring to a wooden bench at eleven  fifty five. "Erina" mumble
"What's wrong Marco?" She responds gazing at me with her deep ocean blue eyes. "I've always liked y-you" we blush in harmony. As I begin to break the gaze her eyes sparkle with happiness "really Marco?" Erina stares into my heart searching for my answer "Hey marco..." she asks " yeah Erina" i answer
"I've always felt like this since we were kids  like we're fated together." As i try to respond i get a notification  from the government it's my notice
"This document entails the name of your future spouse your other half..." my eyes scan over the glass screen searching for the name "Erina Bristol future wife, meeting between families to be scheduled over the coming days." My eyes well up with tears of happiness I look at Erina and wrap my arms around her as does she. "We'll be together, you will be my future wife." As I go to finish my sentence a pair of agents from the welfare institute greet me and congratulate me on my sixteenth.

They hand over a brown envelope sealing away the documents foreseeing my future marriage to my dearest Erina. I unseal the envelope revealing the white sheet of paper holding my marriage details for the future. Although something isn't right Erina's name isn't on the paper it's a girl I have never met before Lilith... confused I quiz the institute agents on they document I received on my phone the winter white haired koi tells me the documents i received were a malfunction. Still shocked I stand  there  frozen in the warm  summer night. Erina gradually rises to her feet before looking at me eventually muttering "sorry" filled with tears eyes and runs off.

I look at the agent and thank him for his document. As I walk home I start crying breaking down. " the documents must be wrong surely why can't I be with Erina. My parents at the door to greet my ask what is the matter in cheerful chirpy voices as they always do. "Two lovely agents from the welfare visited about your future wife, we are meeting her and her parents tomorrow."  I look at them red eyed from the crying slowly piecing myself back together after the ordeal at the park. "Ok I look forward to meeting her." I mutter back. "I'm gonna go upstairs I'm really tired I'll see you two at breakfast ok?" They glance at me nod and we enter the house I make my way straight up the stairs throwing my shoes onto the floor before jumping into my soft cloud like bed, drifting slowly into a deep depressing slumber.

My mind spinning with emotion of sadness but a strange happiness I mean it's a new adventure I guess it not like I even have a choice. I rise early to a sunny cloudless day hoping that I wasn't sixteen and was still fifteen and I could be with Erina...
I Descend down the stairs to the kitchen were my mother is making us a quick breakfast before we go to meat my future wife.  "So you excited Marco" my dad asks hop nah for an enthusiastic reply
"I guess I have to dad" I mumble back hoping to leave the conversation in the dust so we can go and meet her.

When we arrived at my future spouse's house we are greeted to her mother a gentle sweet woman and her husband a blond tall figure with a neatly trimmed beard. We all sit around a small oak table. The girls mother introduced her self and her husband to my parents and the politely reply back in a similar fashion. The girl looks at me her eyes gazing looking deep inside me. " Hello Marco my name is Lilith. Your future wife." I look down a me feet all red and flustered. The chair slowly slides back as if my body is moving on it's own I stand up idle for a second shook that this is happening... "I'm sorry." I run out leaving my parents to deal with my mess.  I come to a stop and sit down on a small patio gathering my thoughts and recollecting myself.

"Hey Marco d-d-do you hate me?" She stands above me her eyes searching every inch of my iris
