*Zayn’s POV *
“See you, mate” Harry bid goodbye, waving at me and Hazel as he and Kaidi walked away.
“Well.. I guess it’s just you and me now” Hazel said.
I looked at her and said, “ I guess so..”
We both stood there for awhile in awkward silence.
“I thought you were going shopping?” Hazel asked.
“Oh yeah, shopping” I was supposed to go shopping. Harry and Kaidi were probably going to the arcade to play. We both agreed not to go too far away from the mall so we can all go to the hotel together.
“Come on, then!” Hazel replied, tugging my arm to the nearest store.
Jack Wills. I smiled as Harry popped into my mind instantly. Harry probably owned every Jack Wills hoodie there was.
We walked past a few racks of hoodies. For a long time we were doing just that. Both of us weren’t speaking and I could tell Hazel was bored. So I just stopped by a random rack, fished a hoodie and aked her, “Do you think this is okay?”
“Hmm.” Hazel said, putting her hand in her chin., “Blue’s not really your color.”
I raised my eyebrow while holding up the hoodie.
“Kidding!” she laughed.
Her laugh…. It was different. I didn’t know how to explain it but it was. With her child-like features and melodius laugh… she almost looked like..
“an angel” I whispered.
“What? What angel? What are you talking about?” Hazel asked, confused.
“Nothing.” I tried the hoodie on and said, “I feel like Harry.”
“Because Jack Wills is his thing?” she asked and I nodded.
She stared at me for a few seconds and said, “Jack Wills can be your thing too. I think it looks good on you”
I smiled and went over to the counter pay for the hoodie. The cashier woman, age ranging from 17-20 probably, gaped at me. I was feeling awkward so I looked for Hazel.
“Hazel?” I called. And she popped out of one of the racks.
“Sorry, I was looking around” she answered.
“No, it’s okay. I thought you left.”
“Why would I?” she asked.
I think I blushed a bit when I heard her answer. The cashier woman cleared her throat, handed me the hoodie and smiled sweetly.
I smiled a little and said, “Thank you..” in a voice that no one would probably hear.
I saw the cashier woman glare at Hazel and Hazel just looked down. Wasn’t she gonna do anything?
I waited for a moment. Nope, nothing. So I decided to speak up.
“Excuse me, don’t you know it’s rude to glare at people with no good reason?” I asked in a polite way.
Hazel looked at me, surprised. The cashier woman didn’t know what to say.
“Have a nice day” I smiled weakly to the cashier woman and added “Come on, Hazel.”
We left the store and walked quietly for a while. I glanced at Hazel to see her reaction but she was just staring straight ahead.
I sighed. Maybe speaking up wasn’t such a good idea. Maybe she felt I was too…. I don’t know… Maybe she felt I had no right to say that?
I think I’m a bit overthinking.
“You know, you shouldn’t have said that…” Hazel said quietly.
“But the woman is glaring at you.” I protested. Or Jimmy did. Or. Okay. (HA- HA- HAAA-)
“I can handle myself!” Hazel said defensively.
“You weren’t doing anything.” I replied, reasoning out.
She didn’t answer. I sighed again.
“You don’t have to pretend, I can see right through you.” I said.
It was one of my talents, or so they say. I can tell when people lie. Just by looking at them. And I’m a good judge of character most of the time.
“Was I that obvious” Hazel laughed quietly.
“No, I’m just psychic” I smiled as we continued to shop for clothes.
