Noah ~ Amber Run
I am warm. On the inside, from that third glass of champagne, and also on the outside, from the sun. The brilliant sun, which streams bright light. Bright light that bleeds out of every part of the clear blue sky.
You are next to me. I can feel your presence. We're not touching, but I know you're there.
This whole thing is perfect. A spring picnic in the park. A dazzling sky. And you.
I move my arm slightly, so it brushes against yours. The contact makes my heart come alive, setting fire to my chest. I smile. I think you're smiling too.
I roll slightly to the side, my warm skin pressing into the blanket as I turn.
Then suddenly, your hand grips mine. It takes me by surprise, and my heart leaps as I wrap my fingers around yours.
And now my body is singing a million songs as you and I lay on our back, hands intertwined. We look up at the sky. We smile up at the clouds. We smile together, fingers tip-tapping each others hands.
I never knew what this felt like before you. I assumed it was fairy-tales, made up to placate young children.
I know now.
We are in love.
